Doing a deep That NYE 95 is tight....is there a spot we’re I can hear the covers shows?
Some of them in the 90s were released in the Live Phish series. Here's the Remain in Light show. I know Quadrophenia, The White Album, and The Velvet Underground were released there as well.
Which tracks should I add to my Bonnaroo playlist? Preferably ones they'll be likely to play live. Idc if it's studio or live, just has to be on Apple Music, which most of their published discog is.
Anything from a live show, avoid anything 93 or below as it’ll sound a little rough. 95-00 are their tightest years.
Most accessible shows, imo, are NYE 95, Dayton 12/07/97, Live In Brooklyn and A Live One.
Songs that are a good starting point: Gumbo, Cavern, Ac/dc bag, 46 days, Suzy Greenberg, Free, wolfman’s Brother
Cover songs they do well: boogie on reggae woman, sneaking sally through the alley, no quarter, good times bad times, loving cup
Poppier songs include Farmhouse, Billy Breathes, Sample In a Jar that are more radio friendly
Once you get a feel for it, the most popular Phish songs among their fans are Tweezer, ghost, Carini, slave to the traffic light, bathtub gin, mike’s song and weekapaug groove, sand
Yep greatest feeling in the world. There really isn’t anything that compares, at least in doors and at that size. Was on the floor last summer for BD show and my friend turned to me and goes “is the floor shaking or is it just me?”
How often do they play full albums? Feel like it would be a good choice to do one on Friday to open fans up to them.
very rare. IIRC only on halloween, plus they covered dark side one time in the 90s.
couple halloweens ago they covered a disney haunted house sound effects album and everyone went crazy.
this past halloween they made up a fake band called Kasvot Vaxt and planted fake information about them on the internet so everyone would think they were an actual band. they "covered" that album and everyone went crazy.
anyway won't happen at bonnaroo but who knows what shenanigans we have in store.
I think it's interesting TAB or the Forest Ghosts (whatever) didn't get booked as well. whatever the stand alone post-Dusk show is, I feel like it's less likely to be '& Friends' based on that.

That is what "The Garden is Rocking!" means lol. I love having to explain that to friends who make their first MSG trip

I won’t be making the trip to Roo this year but I just wanted 3post1jack1 to know I’ll be doing my first full run at the rumored SPAC dates this summer.
What did people in 2012 think of them? I wasn't there (went the year before and after, somehow) but always wondered what the takeaway was from someone who was seeing them for the first time. Well received? Were people like wtf is this?
