Wait can inspector still guess after being whacked?
Once the inspector is dead they don't get responses to their guesses. I guess they could keep guessing but they shouldn't get responses, so no, not really.
Off the top of my head I can't think of any, except that the Inspector can't reveal the response of their guess until the start of the next day.
If you're concerned about flirting with a rule, PM me first and run your post by me.
Inspector shouldn't be getting the answer until the day begins essentially so that shouldn't be a problem.
I just want to second this. When I'm reffing, my inspector won't get an answer whatsoever until 1 minute before the new round starts... And if they die, they get no answer. This is a rule... because reasons... I can't recall the game, but in a previous game, an inspector guessed... got an answer and revealed at night... yet was the whack...

Maddog did it once as Inspector, forget the game but it wasn't terribly long ago. I had to tell him to delete the post asap, which led to the rule revision.

I remember that game, but the rule was still in place prior to that. I think whoever the ref was answered too soon. This was well prior to MD.
But yes, I checked. The rule was in place before they (MD/Pablo) were even on Inforoo. Prior to Mafia 81 [Aug 2015]. (The oldest mafia thread on the first page)... I don't feel like looking further back.
We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance Well they're are no friends of mine
Aight so unconventional but I asked LD if this is okay.
@town I think we should all make our observations about who we think the third mafia member is. Here's why: to get whacked
Were you going to tell us anything? I don't think this is a good strategy, btw, but I'm willing to listen.
I was but then no one else said anything and then I also figured it would be really easy for mafia to whack someone with the wrong guess to throw us off. I was just trying to get cute
Town: Maddog, JR, JTR, Kanye, me (or yourself if you're town) Mafia: Carini, Jortles Unknown: Dan, Potent, Tainted, Thor
Busy at work but knowing now fairly conclusively that Maddog, JTR, and Kanye are town, we should look at Day 1 and Day 2 pre-reveal to see what role they may have played in the runoffs. At the very least we know their votes were not manipulative. Could also be useful to see if JR was whacked because of something he said about our current unknowns instead of Carini/Jortles.

The way it was worded was ambiguous. It was basically "if the Inspector is dead, he/she is not owed an answer" not "if the Inspector is dead, he/she will not get an answer because obviously he/she is dead".
And I looked multiple times in the rules for something saying I couldn't say anything when I was 1) still alive and 2) had received the answer to a guess. There was nothing. The only rule I broke was deleting my post, at the behest of LD.
