Hey guys. Me and the wife are debating going to this this year. What's the layout like, and where exactly does it take place? Is there a "main" festival area with multiple stages where the majority of the sets take place, or is it more like NXNE, where some shows take place on one main stage and the rest are scattered around clubs throughout the city?
its setup like any other traditional festival. its all donwtown, 4 stages i think it was and a mini 'den stage' that artists did sets at. last year was my first and it was fuckin awesome. Had no issues with crowd or lines getting in , or getting a solid spot at a stage. Tons of other things to do inside the gates too between food demos, art installations, and comedy. Pool parties every day before the fest with an act from the lineup playing, those were the biggest highlight for me. You can leave up to 3 times with re-entry too i think which helps if you have a long gap or need a power nap like cmack. So many great acts look likely i am fully planning on being back. We booked a room at Station like 2 months ago for 575 over 5 nights.

Last year was my 2nd time going and like ne said set up like traditional fest with 4 big stages. I did vip both years and loved it by far my favorite fest of all would be going back in a heartbeat if i wasn’t saving for a honeymoon in early 2020 so I’m changing it up to ACL this year since my fiancé has family Austin that invited us to stay. But i did tell her if this lineup is great again and I’m not feeling ACL we may need to rearrange vacation fest funds to go back that’s how awesome i think this fest is. Always something fun to do inside and outside the fest and so much to see inside the fest and people are so nice and cool from all over.

Is the hotel you booked the Palace Station Hotel? And did you stay there last year?
We stayed at the golden nugget last year, that was cool but it was like 970 so when we saw this deal we jumped fast. Only like a block or 2 further. I just double checked we were gonna do Palace Station but since they dont have their own pool or sportsbook we changed to the California Hotel across the street. I believe Station guests can use that pool. Total comes to just 532 for the 5 nights which is incredible. Anything under a grand for 3+ nights is a good deal i think though.

Sorry, my Las Vegas geography is rough. When I look up Palace Station, it's a twelve minute drive from the festival area and nowhere near the California Hotel. The Palace Station hotel I'm looking at also definitely has its own pool... were you talking about the Main Street Station hotel? Cuz that's a lot closer to the California one you're talking about...
On a related note, what are people's opinions on staying in "historic downtown Las Vegas" vs. the strip for this? Seems convenient to be walking distance from the fest, but there's gotta be shuttles and whatnot from the strip, right? (Asking because the hotels on the strip seem a lot nicer than the ones near Fremont.)
yea i think thats it, Main Street station. my bad. you wanna stay downtown, its a short walk to the gates and everything is cheaper.
The Nugget was nice and the pool was really cool. The Pool parties were at the Grand and that place looked pretty cool as well. I dont think they had shuttles but not sure. they heavily promoted lyft.
From where I stand, Life is Beautiful has always been a little bit of an alt-radio vibe, like what you'd hear the primetime show on your college radio station play. This...doesn't look much different than it's been? IMO.
They got a couple fairly unique headliners for 2019 in Chance and The Black Keys, that fit their demo well. It's just a bad year for headliners generally.
