Don't read too much into Day 1 votes before Day 2 starts. It's poisonous. Don't disregard them, but don't make too many assumptions.
Don't take being in a Day 1 runoff personally. Someone is going to die. There's nothing to be done about it and there's probably not going to be a good reason for it. Be glad you have a vote to potentially save yourself, think about how you can use it to help yourself and town gather information going forward.
If we've only gotten 1 mafia out from 10 games in the first day, wouldn't trying something new not hurt?
All kinds of things have been tried on Day 1. Usually it's townies trying to mix things up and wind making themselves look guilty. Mafia can subtlety influence Day 1. Can't do much but let them. Use the information later.

1 out of 10 isn't terrible when you consider that three players have knowledge of who the Mafia are and will actively (but often subtly) make moves to prevent their teammates from being lynched. In Day 1 we don't have enough info to really try to go after Mafia. The best we can do is set things up so that in later rounds we have solid info to look at.

I agree. I think we need to try to push at least one person without votes into the runoff
There’s a difference between getting Mafia into the Day 1 runoff and actually voting them out. The last time I looked at the numbers, we are pretty much right on the average (1.09) with how many Mafia we get into the runoff. It’s more so that we suck at voting them out, by you should expect Town to have a pretty low success rate against Mafia on Day 1 because town has no info and Mafia can manipulate

I never once said we would vote off a mafia lol
I'm just saying if mafia doesn't vote for each other then someone without votes is likely mafia and we can at least put one in the runoff and see what happens. If anything it is more evidence to look at
My hesitation is because my vote switch was to Jaz, who had no votes on him until ZIG cast the last original vote of the first round. So, I'm viewing it as someone new to the runoff.
I think it makes sense to put a new person or two into the runoff.
