I'm hoping FLips performing Soft Bulletin is on the same day as Dungen, Claypool-Lennon, or Wand so I can just get a day pass. Stereolab is playing at 400 person club here for $30. Not really worth the $360 for tix+camping right now.
I listened to The Soft Bulletin a ton when it came out but hadn't played it all the way through in ages, so I gave it a spin a couple days ago. It's still a great album and all, but with all the slow and melancholy songs, I'm not sure it'll make for a good close to the night unless they finish with an encore of other songs.

It’d be great if they just did Race for the Prize again after Sleeping on the Roof to mimic the CD.

they played it a couple years ago at red rocks with the CO symphony. Played the album, did an encore of Yoshimi and Do you Realize with the symphony, and then Space oddity and the WAND to close it out. So only a couple extra songs.
They have three dates in the UK in September where they are playing it, so that should give you an idea of what they may do.
When does the price go up? Thats gotta be when they drop the whole thing. Like, if they got a knockout big name, then holding off until 2 months before is gonna pay off, but if its really Tame Impala again, thats gonna look really weak.

If it was tame and Thom Yorke that would look pretty good though
I just learned JJUUJJUU was the bass player in A Static Lullaby. From bad screamo to psych rock curator. Interesting path.
Yup yup. Phil did a complete 180 after his Static Lullaby days, re-evaluating things and life after he got into his serious car accident back in 2005.
Anyways he's a very down-to-earth, friendly and DIY guy...And as long as he is the heart behind Daze (and his Moon Block Team & Space Agency), it should continue to be a unique event with carefully curated lineups.

Good for him. It's interesting watching musicians careers progress when they completely change genres. I remember Portugal the man being a screamo band called Anatomy of a Ghost, I even saw them at Warped Tour once.

i think ACL and the Greek shows take Thom out of the equation.
