I don't see why not. They've been touring fairly regularly recently so it's not like it's some big comeback. And they don't draw like they used to at festivals, so It could work

So Morcheeba who had Saturday of Desert Daze available and were playing San Diego the next day ended up announcing a Pappy & Harriets show that day instead. Tinariwen who were in a similar situation looking like a shoo-in to play on Sunday announced a LA show instead today. I'm starting to wonder if there is something going wrong behind the scenes.
They replied to someone's instagram comment with "just know we're not witholding on purpose" and the rest of the lineup would be out soon. If Khruangbin isn't on the final lineup I'm going to assume they ran into financial issues and had to cancel some acts that were already booked.
Theyre going to announce one big band and then wait another month for the rest.

There can still be an announcement today, but its not going to be the most noteworthy of line up drops when its end of business and any casual interest wouldnt really be there. Plus what about all the potential acts that would be on there? They all gotta be on the same page and ready to react.
With all the TooL hype this week I’m putting money on them playing this.
Yeah I’ve been thinking that for a few weeks. That they need to wait for Tool for one reason or another due to the new album stuff. There’s also a small part of me that thinks they may have been waiting to finalize The Mars Volta but that’s more wishful thinking.

The fanbase has their wallets ready to open up. They were tops in streaming already and you know those album pre orders are gonna be higher than normal. Although they would have to drop money on the weekend pass cause theres no way single days get released at the same time? They would want to maximize sales for this. But you have to wonder if the Tool fans forking over for the weekend pass will just end up showing for Tool on their respective day and leaving, so then the Fest feels a bit more empty than it should.
