It's not bad, but the headliners are disappointing (especially vs. last year) and I'm not sure there's anything on the undercard that shocks me. Don't think this is worth $300, but if you're a mega Devo or Stereolab fan, I can get being excited for it.
I agree with this wholeheartedly! I just hope they have daily tickets.
Wu Tang isnt enough to move the needle ticket sales wise, so there def will be single day tickets. Now the question is which acts on the undercard end up with a DD related show. Wishful thinking about Stereolab doing a club show?
Do you mean like aftershows in LA or something?
Stereolab still haven't announced a show for LA IIRC, so that's a possibility. But their tour schedule around those dates are a bit packed as well, so not sure.
Did the math... Only counting bands I already knew there's 27 I want to see (not including the headliners). There's about 10 I wanted to see from the daily drops. Now I just need to make sure I stay awake this time
i havent read the reactions here yet but holy shit, wtf is phil thinking with wu-tang topping this lineup??? just look at where they are on the kaaboo lineup. these guys are playing fucking casinos now lmao.

It's possible they were a last minute replacement... I'm actually surprised how many people are excited about them, much less think they'll all show up and put on a good show. I'll probably nap on the beach

Wu-Tang is one of those groups every laymen music fan circles around. Wasn’t it at coachella when they ran up to a bunch of people who said they loved them and then asked them to name members as a follow up?

I have a story similar to that from Bonnaroo 2013.
For this festival, I feel like death grips last year was a bigger pull.. and has just as much chance of all of them showing up. Plus seem more relevant to the festival. Shit, I think JPEG or Danny brown would have been better choices for this

better pull for people who normally attend this fest? Absolutely. Better pull from the general public they may be trying to get to buy tickets? Not really. This is a move toward the mainstream festival goer I think.

Do you really think Wu is going to pull the general public with the rest of this lineup? Most of the kids who would want to see Wu probably have no idea who 95% of the rest of the lineup is.

Most of these kids probably want to see Wayne Coyne roll around in a ball like a douchebag really bad too though. And no, I don’t really think it will move tickets, but the strategy to book three groups at the top with pretty devoted fan bases and a farewell show as your fourth is interesting. But the 30 kids going back and forth with Tristan is entertaining enough for me.
