They announce after shows before they go on-sale, correct? I've looked over the past few years and didn't wanna see many but there's always at least one a festival.
I guess they don't use Lincoln Hall either? It would be too perfect as my hostel is a 5 minute walk from there.

Yes, but usually pretty late in the game.
They've never used Lincoln Hall. Cobra Lounge, Bottom Lounge, and Concord are their go to venues for afters.

It would have been too perfect.
I've got a month to go before my 2 night Avail weekend (with Carly Rae Jepsen the day after ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). I'll let y'all know how that goes.
Bah. Went on and copped a ticket to Slowthai at the Subterranean on Friday. I figure if the schedule drops and it doesn't work for me, I can sell it or pass it on to someone.
So goes the idea of not caring about night shows. E: I know this isn't an official one.
Well, my chances of going all 3 days just increased by a lot, so please send me names of bands on the last few lines that you all like!!
The two that caught my eye before researching wasThe Garden and Thin Lips. I've seen both before (though I don't really remember much about The Garden) and Thin Lips is great live.
What's good on the undercard? I don't know a ton past the first few lines, but considering popping up for whatever day Ween ends up playing
Besides Avail and Hot Snakes, some of the other stuff that's getting me there:
Ride Lucero Turnstile The Ergs! Bob Mould Guided by Voices
Dave Haus used to be in The Loved Ones (POWERHOUSE Philly punk band with sing-songy lyrics) but his new stuff is more akin to the Coug. I haven't seen it but I'm intrigued to say the least.
While not undercard and I know I'm in the minority category: Bikini Kill is far and away the most exciting thing on here for me. It's been almost 30 years since I've seen them take the stage and can't believe I'm seeing it again.

Everything people have listed above but also Nick Lowe. They aren't the same sonically or anything, but if you enjoy Ween, you'll probably like the album Jesus of Cool. The album has a feel of one of theirs in a lot of the lyrics being tongue in cheek while the instrumentals attack various styles. Tracks that sound like they could be chasing after Paul Simon, The Police, Thin Lizzy, British invasion stuff etc. I don't know if he's playing new tracks live now or if he sticks to the oldies but I think that album is at least worth a listen. "
Thank God. The two girls I'm going with refuse to ride ferris wheels and I need a partner.
More importantly, I am going to need a headbanging partner for the three Slayer songs I know.
I keep going back and forth between my excitement for Slayer these days. When they announced a "final tour" I didn't think it would be a KISS style finale of milking that shit for several years. I went to the Raleigh show almost two years ago thinking that was it and now here we are.
If you really wanna get excited for Slayer
Reign In Blood > Seasons Of The Abyss > South Of Heaven. It's like 106 minutes outta your day. If anything, you'll get work done quicker.
Back in the mid 90's, I used to deliver organs and blood to hospitals with patients in need along the East Coast. Reign In Blood was my go to cd for those trips and the looks I got when I pulled up rocking "Angel Of Death" were priceless.
Anyways: Deep cuts would be Show No Mercy. So like another 35 minutes. You got this.

I actually listened to Reign in Blood for the first time a few weeks back, but I did get around to Seasons of the Abyss and South of Heaven this morning. By my measure, South of Heaven is my favorite of the three, though it feels like Reign in Blood’s a bit slicker than the others.
