Assuming Bloc Party ends sometime between 8:40 and 9:30, what is the fastest mode of transportation to the Metro? Uber/Lyft?
Yep, by a pretty significant margin.
Uber/Lyft is most likely faster, but I don't think it would be significantly faster than the pink line to the red line. The train definitely represents significant savings, that's the route I'd be taking.

Have to take an L on this one since I forgot this fest isn’t in Humboldt Park this year. I’d still take an Uber, but yeah it’s also much more feasible to take the train.
Just a few musings to keep the hype up. I have a feeling we are gonna get the schedule this Wednesday and these are my wishes that I'm sending out into the universe:
Really hoping for Violent Femmes -> Flips Friday night. This will be my 4th Flaming Lips show, and though I'm a little bummed we don't get Soft Bulletin, I'm stoked I'm guaranteed to hear my fav song by them (In the Morning of the Magicians) for the first time since Roo 2014. Wouldn't mind catching Rancid, Descendents, Hot Water Music, and Anti-Flag, but I've seen them all before so they're skippable. Same with The Garden and Caroline Rose, but they'll probably be easier to see early in the day and it'd be fun to see how much they've improved since last time. Otherwise, the only other must see for me is Cock Sparrer since they are a legacy act at this point. Have heard good things about Angel Du$t and Thin Lips, but holding off diving into them.
Avail -> Bloc Party -> Against Me! (aftershow) would be my ideal Saturday. Don't mind missing the other big names since Wu Tang doesn't do anything for me, have tix for SLAYER at the TaxSLAYER center already, and at this point, Rise Against would only be worth seeing if they were doing a full album play imo. The only other must see for that day would be The Selecter so kinda an open schedule. This will be my 5th Riot Fest and I still haven't seen a full Andrew WK or Gwar set so this might be the year! Open to suggestions for smaller bands! The Hu looks neat...
Sunday is going to be a nightmare. I MUST SEE Bikini Kill, Raconteurs, Patti Smith, B-52s, Against Me!, and Streetlight. There is no way that is possible and it's KILLING ME. The Village People is gonna be a time, I could see myself enjoying Guided by Voices, and Ride would probably be cool as well. Less than Jake and White Reaper would be fun to catch again and I should probably see Save Ferris at some point. And Bob Mould and Nick Lowe are LEGENDS and its TOO MUCH MAN! Any thoughts on who I should prioritize?
All things considered, given how many bands I wanted to see on Sunday, I think that was more or less scheduled for my tastes.
Bloc Party vs. Slayer is disappointing though. The question should become “Will this reallly be Slayer’s final Chicago slash Milwaukee show?” vs. “Is it worth it to see a rare performance of Silent Alarm by an increasingly apathetic Kele Okereke?”

This is my exact thought process as well. I doubt these are truly Slayer's final shows, I expect the reunion tour in 5 years or whatever. This might be my only chance to see (half of) Bloc Party play Silent Alarm, so I'm leaning towards that I suppose. It's also possible to catch the beginning of Slayer, all of Silent Alarm, and then the end of Slayer. I hate splitting festival sets but I might actually do that.
I'm suddenly WAY less sad I'm not going because 6 of the bands I care about are conflicting in 2 time slots.
FLips vs Descendents vs Rancid
Patti Smith and Raconteurs vs Ween
way to relieve my FOMO, Riot Fest
Funny, I didn’t have much FOMO until I saw the schedule. Violent Femmes into the Lips would be cool, and I could take or leave Saturday (passing interest in Slayer & Anthrax, seen Andrew WK back in the day, seen Wu Tang a couple times and they’re a bit sloppy live)... but Sunday? I would 100% be getting a day pass if I lived near Chicago.
Nick Lowe > Village People > Guided by Voices > B-52s or Bob Mould > Patti Smith > The Raconteurs > Bikini Kill is a very ‘me’ day.

Replace Village People with Ride and The Raconteurs with The Ergs! And that's my Sunday basically.
Who's ready to complain about the weather??? Looking like rain possible every day but Saturday as well as throughout the week leading up. Gonna be MUDDY

Well, I guess at least now it looks like it’s ‘only’ going to rain this week.

After the Friday I just had, I'll gladly just take rain.
Anything on this list that's "YOU GOTTA HAVE THIS!"
Not really. There's some good options but Riot Fest typically doesn't have amazing food. There will also be vendors that don't have their shit together, so give everyone a once over before you order anything. If it looks like the employees are frustrated and customers are pissed off, move on.
