Baring the lineup my group of friends all want to do this. Brought it up yesterday as we floated down the French Broad river and they all seemed on board. Fingers crossed , I love New Orleans.
Yeah. It's almost the same logic as for Big Wild though he had a gap whereas Tyler's tour ends on the 26th in Houston. I could see them giving him a Top 5 and possibly HL rapper unless they're going Tyler > Childish maybe.
Tyler would most likely headline this.
He could be HL rapper or even day-headliner for that day, but in the event they did get the rescheduled Childish, I don't think they'd book Tyler higher. I didn't think you were saying he'd headline the entire festival, as there's no way I can see them booking him higher than Guns N' Roses. If they got Childish back, Tyler has to be 5 or 6. If not, he's probably 2 depending on the 3rd headliner and whether or not they book a particularly big EDM artist like Deadmau5 or Bassnectar - any of which could be 3, 4 or 5 depending.
Since C3 took over the booking, they haven't ever used Sunday for a rap closing show. It's been like Arcade Fire, Killers and Arctic Monkeys. That's not to say they will or they won't change up the protocol.
Last time Tyler played Voodoo was with OFWGKTA back in 2011, they were booked 10th on Sunday ahead of mostly local stuff and some older shit. And even the last time he played Buku, he was booked 3rd on that stage I think. So good for him for performing (and often annoying) his way to the top.

If they offered him a 5/6 spot, he just wouldn’t take it. Guns N Roses - Childish Gambino - Tyler isn’t totally unrealistic. Bonnaroo has two rap HLs this year.

Pretty excited to see what this lineup looks like tomorrow hoping for some good surprises. This could changed my ACL trip depending on lineup also could keep my ACL trip which I’m looking forward too and just be a day of voodoo. But right now if the 3 was GNR Tyler and Black Keys my plan would be ACL still and then a day of the black keys but the undercard can always persuade me too.
I dont have anything else. It should be hit and miss as always but usually only a couple gaps. They started R&B acts a few years ago too, so expect some of that as they brought Kehlani, Miguel and other similar acts. So they will have some of that too.

Also Esteban and Vieuxcareen i know y’all have both done lineups of voodoo and ACL which one do y’all enjoy more is it just more of lineups being the dealbreaker?

It is a toss up for me. I love Voodoo because it is at home, my birthday weekend, and the lineup is always stellar. I prefer the old location, but what can you do? I love ACL's location. It is so spacious and nice. The lineups end up being the dealbreaker for me personally. I have a place to crash in Austin and it isn't a horrible drive. I prefer to do both honestly, just lately it has been difficult due to other life plans.

Appreciate both of yalls input I’m in Mobile so voodoo being close and usually having lineup perfect for my taste is always a win and fun. I love to travel and with life is beautiful not working time wise for me this year decides to finally try somewhere new again with ACL but glad to hear y’all like both. I’m really thinking my best odds will probably do ACL to try something new and still great lineup then just pick a day of voodoo that works out best so i can still go to voodoo. If my fiancé and i weren’t planning all the honeymoon stuff for next year i would’ve normally just done both full weekends but with life making a little sacrifice lol. Thankful to be able to tho!

They are kind of different. I love austin (was there last weekend), and I love ACL for the music. They have more stages since voodoo circa 15, so you have more options at any given time. It’s well run and always a lot of fun. But I’m kind of the wrong person to compare because I live within walking distance of Voodoo, and I do platinum. ACL isn’t going to compete with that in any way unless you’re paying close to 5k. Bars are an important element for me as well. We don’t have alcohol laws or regs on liquor. So you can go to any bar or sponsor and hook them up with a couple fat tips and end up drinking doubles/triples as you see fit. The lineups are usually similar but different, though I’ll give that to ACL. Vibe side - costumes, party level and crowd enthusiasm goes to Voodoo. Food is a wash, but it’s slightly better at voodoo, and of course platinum gets chef Aaron Sanchez for 6 meals and snacks all day. Maybe arroyo seco is on that level or kaaboo, but I’ll eat some chef Sanchez any day. Also the cities are different since we have no curfew. Late shows are less time rigorous, so you can go out til 4/5/6am if you want to after the fest.
So I dig them both. If you’ve never been to ACL, you should go to experience it. It’s got its issues, but we don’t ever not have a stupidly good time.
I’ve gone to hula past 3 years, and I’d be surprised if it comes back. Someone posted on Facebook it would be back but haven’t seen an official post yet. I’m sure if they have it , it’s going to be scaled back but we shall see. That places was always a great time.

awesome man i know me and you have had a ton similar taste in the past so yeah I’m thinking I’m gonna stick with ACL and just end up a day of voodoo so i still get both. I just have a major love for voodoo so hate to miss but hell if that lineup is solid may have to find a way to do both weekends haha

I’ve seen that post but that was close to a month ago and there’s nothing been posted on any hula social media, so I’m slightly skeptical that it’ll happen or that the lineups going to be worth it.
