I loooooooove that poster. Ok so I have never really listened to opeth, any suggestions on where to start?
I think Ghost Reveries is a good starting point. It’s a mix of their earlier death metal sound and their newer progressive rock style. They basically play one song off each of their albums at their live shows these days
If you like real heavy stuff, listen to Blackwater Park, and rockier stuff, Damnation
Not digging the last two headliners (was really hoping for Emperor) but I'm all in for some Mogwai. With the move towards more varied genres, there's bound to be something else good going on during Megadeth/Opeth. Looking forward to it!

I don’t care about Megadeth’s recent stuff, and Dave Mustaine is a dick, but Peace Sells and Rust in Peace are amazing and looking at their most recent setlists I would be totally satisfied by their show

the Red Rocks live release is a pretty solid encapsulation of what you'll be getting. Royal Albert Hall one is good, but won't have any of the newer stuff (which isn't as good so thats fine)
It moved to mandalay? Or are you just saying in general?
lol nah didn't realize. but also i just expected Vegas hotels to be more expensive than getting a room in like fucking austin or something, but i guess you want people to stay/gamble.

Use the “room block” link on the Psycho Las Vegas page to book your room at Mandalay. Last I checked they had very good rates. Like $350ish total for the nights of the fest
Although I have mlife rewards from having usually stayed at Luxor or NYNY so I’ve been getting stupid cheap offers for that week
It’s definitely worth staying at Mandalay. Scheduling will be tight with four stages and you’re probably want to be able to put on a swimsuit at some point for the pool stage

The Mandalay is 84 a night on Expedia for one King bed, plus 41 a night resort fee. 426 total with taxes and fees from Friday to Monday. Ouch

Yea my group did the block and we paid I think 400 total for a room with two queens. I am really curious to see what this Andrew W.K. closing ceremony will be.

Doesn’t seem to bad to me for the convenience and staying at a nice Vegas hotel. Also will be split with a buddy
If that’s too much I would also recommend Luxor and Excalibur, which have indoor walkways as well as a tram that runs between the three hotels 24 hours

Luxor is much more, excaliber about the same. I've never done a city festival without like 3 other people in a room, so this is kind of sticker shock for me when I add it up. Gonna look at other options. I do know a couple of people down there, might get lucky
This lineup is unbelievably awesome. There needs to be something like this on the east coast. I would 100% travel for this if I didn’t work 70 hours a week in the summer.
03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
I ended up booking a room at Excali for my crew of 4. Appeared to be the lest expensive and closest option to the fest.
And yeah, I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay all the way over in downtown Vegas. Although rooms there are really cheap, you would be looking at 20-30 minutes easily each way. And depending on the time of day/night it can be longer than that.

Another hotel tip: check occasionally to see if the discounted block of rooms have gone down in price since you last reserved. Every year I seem to drop my cost around $100 by checking prices a few times before the event.
