Ticket prices are pretty decent, $190 for GA and $430 for VIP. If i can get over the Skynyrd booking as headliner, might make a return trip to the farm. Havent been there since 2012. Perhaps some additions like Primus, Sevendust, COC, Incubus?

Lord ya'll I got friends wanting to go to Exit 111 fest...they've never done a music fest before and I feel ignorant educating them on what to do LOL How can I be failing so hard at this? I'm a damn roo vet if I can do roo this fest should be a cake walk since its in Oct not the heat of June

Exactly! I like the idea but there's little chance I'll make it (unless Clutch), although my first thought about Exit 111 was that we wouldn't have to suffer through that Summer heat! I wondered what the hell we were doing and whether we'd survive when it hit 105 degrees in 2010,which was the first big fest for my crew. And I wondered why the hell we went back when 2011 felt just as hot. Early October could be delightful there!
Just keep 'em out of legal trouble and make sure they pack what they need and don't forget the wristbands, and everything else should take care of itself.

God that 11 hour line to get in the 2010 show, with no ac because we were afraid we'd run out of gas, just to end up a mile from centeroo with no ezups because no one had told us how to roll. It's a miracle I went back 5 times after that. My first year was pretty miserable

I'm already going to be in Franklin the last half of the week, so i'm for sure going on Friday, hoping for a Primus addition. doubt i can do more than that.
Pretty solid lineup. Will I drive 9+hours. No just cause Danny Wimmer presents offers alot of great Metal/rock festivals across the country. But I def dig Guns N Roses with very good mid card guys like Nothing More, Alter Bridge, Ministry, Mastodon
And if you want real heavy shit, they got Whitechapel, Lamb of God. Overall, a good collection of hard rock, metal, and classic rock.

The only thing I heard was that the crowd sucked and talked a lot of shit about Bonnaroo. 🤷🏻♀️
This is the reason I didn't go. I love metal, liked about half the lineup, but it's uber mainstream metal, which has the second worst audiences outside of mainstream country. Plus, the worst single concert I ever went to for shitty crowds was Skynyrd. Everyone in the place was drunk, and not friendly drunk but "I want to fight someone right now over who has the most teeth" drunk. It was like a trailer park bonfire with 15k people at it.

Went for 3-day GA Camping. Note: I was a metal head in the 80s, but more alt & rap now. Some groups I had seen in their prime and some I had no idea who they were.
1) Vehicle Check was the same as Roo. No issues, just quicker with less attendees.
2) Security, Wristband Scan, On-Site personnel - alot of Regular Roo crew personnell. So things ran smooth from that standpoint.
3). Merch tent was same size as Roo...however, was slammed all day, huge lines. Metal heads love their merch
4). Sound & Set-up - about 2/3 of Centeroo was used ( volleyball, fountain, and Other Stage, This Tent, & Kaliope wete outside of Exit 111 footprint). Three stages, all sound and light were good. Sports bar was meh. A bunch of big screens and bar. Not something that works/is needed at most fests. BONUS POINTS for their Paranormal Cirque. Vegas/Cirq de sole acts with a forklift theme, loads of fun. It could work at Roo, and if they air conditioned it ....WINNER!
5). Crowd. Tended older in age than Roo (but not older than Bourbon & Beyond). I witnessed No fights. I did hear the occasional ”(band name) f*ckn sucks”. "Happy Roo" was replaced with "F*ckn Slayer!" Which always got an approving yell of "F*ckn Slayer" in return🤘.
6). Camping. Helpful and friendly neighbors. BONUS POINTS.... No body was blasting their personal play list all hours of the night.
7) Bonnaroo Effect. I don't believe there was any visable Bonnaroo signage in the Exit 111 area. Also, I did not hear anyone mention Bonnaroo. It was as if the people there were enjoying their thing with their tribe and did not care/know about a the other festival that happens to occur there once a year.
8) Take Aways. A) The Farm has the potential to grow Exit 111 and can easily serve to do the same for other genres. B) Weather - Crazy temp shifts. Either 2 weeks earlier or two weeks later so I can pack one bag. C) Did not smell as much weed in the air... Think beer and pills may have been the substance of choice. D) It was not a shit show nor was it Thunderdome.
I thought it went great, the lower attendance made getting around a lot easier. My Favorite photos from Exit 111 Fest, See more over at WFMCJams.com (based right in Manchester, covers Bonnaroo also.) Photos + Band Interviews: Friday - bit.ly/2ORsflx Saturday - bit.ly/32hWRRd Sunday - bit.ly/2BeVVRu
