Whacking the only cleared townie does make the game more confusing if that's something they were going for
But I dont think Mafia needed much more confusion at the time. The Town was pretty clearly headed in the wrong (Dan/Jortles) direction. If you are Mafia, I have to imagine that Jaz would have been up for consideration there.
I want to also add that Im becoming more and more convinced that Potents move was planned further in advance than people are thinking. Im not sure if it was a move made out of desperation. I think it may have been a move made for fun. After all, it was tough to get Potent on board to play this game with us. Plus its in his personality to just want to try something like this. Remember after last game he got all pissy because he wanted to try lynching the inspector. He said something like its just a fucking game guys.
Additionally, this move only really makes sense out of desperation if I was the third. I know Im not, so Im pretty certain this was all for fun. Which makes me less convinced of SFAs reveal and Thor being Mafia.

I know it looks bad for me continuously defending SFA as inspector but I honestly don't see how SFA would be mafia. Ive been madia teammates with him and this is just way too elaborate and crazy. Not saying he wouldn't want to have fun but I wanted to fake reveal when I was with him and he said it was too risky. Not to mention if SFA was lying that has to mean Tainted was inspector and I mean, come on

Complete bullshit. Where was there desperation if you were the third? Potent had his vote on you - therefore able to save you - but regardless the runoff was tied and Maddog hadn't voted yet. MD coulda just voted for JTR and then boom, you and Mafia Potent heading into Day 3 scot free (esp since at this point SFA only had dead-Thor's name and townie Maddog's name, so he wouldn't have revealed in Day 2). There was absolutely NO pressure on a Potent/Jortles Mafia duo to do something as outrageous as out one of yourselves in the second Day.

What you’re saying here is legit. I’ve been trying to imagine Potent selling this move to Jaz AND SFA and its harder to imagine that than something like him killing off Thor then only needing to convince you to take this ride with him. But Potent and Jaz do have a good enough relationship on here to where I think he could have made the sale once Thor was killed.

And this is why I still think you're town. It doesn't make sense. Sure you had a better chance than him but as you already said you were really the only one putting pressure on him so idk.
Well I'm looking at it this way: one of you is Mafia. So is it more likely that Potent outed himself as Mafia when one of you was in danger of potentially being voted off (Jortles), or when one of you was in no danger at all (Kanye)? The proof that it's a risk that could pay off is the fact that you're now here in Day 5 with the chance to win the game. The move worked, regardless of which one of you it is.

On pages 7 and 8, there are two squabbles between Jaz and Potent that feel a little contrived in retrospect. I think Jaz used this exact terminology to describe these exact interactions but for me and potent, so this isnt going to help change anything for Kanye.
Potent gets pretty upset about my vote for him. Jaz tells him he needs to calm down about it in my defense. Then last Jaz points out the “this thing of ours” post I made and Potent checks him in my defense.

I gotta be honest, when picturing Kanye as Mafia and Jaz as Mafia... I actually think Mafia Kanye would have played a better game than Mafia Jaz has.
If Kanye is Mafia this has been a fucking performance. Same goes for Jaz which is why Im struggling so hard right now, but I think Kanyes would be even better.

I don't know which one of you is Mafia, but I'm content with my vote. I think Jortles is the more likely of the two, and I think at this point he's sucking up to Kanye a little bit and generally flinging shit at the wall to see what we'll latch onto and who he can most likely sway. I imagine he'll try to convince Kanye I'm Mafia now that I'm more or less stating that my vote is staying where it is. Or maybe I'm wrong. I don't know. I do know I'm going to bed though, and I know that this has been a fun game regardless of who wins; both townies and Mafia have played well.

PSA to SFA: Im back to believing you. Please dont hurt me. Kanye makes a good point when bringing up who it was that Potent was convincing with his move. It is probably more likely that hed be able to convince 1 person rather than 2. Having a Day 1 teammate be lynched would actually increase the likelihood of this move happening pretty significantly. So I am now thinking that this wasn’t planned much before Potents switch.
So then when you ask yourself how Thor relates to Kanye and Jaz, the answer comes back pretty strongly in Kanyes favor. When we had our first 4way runoff on Day1, none of Thor Potent or Kanye were in it. Kanye pipes up and says “are we good with these 4 or should we go 5?” That prompts dan to switch and get Thor into the runoff. Kanye then votes for thor in a critical situation before directing his attention to his new target, Potent. There are very minor details throughout Day 1 that I dont mean to disrespect Kanye by saying he wouldnt be capable of as Mafia, but this whole game has been impressive enough from him that I think Im comfortable losing to it.
Jaz on the other hand, never voted for Thor or Potent and gave Thor a revote on Day 1. Its also much easier to tell the story of, “Potent may have felt the need to switch because all three Mafia members were lined up against Dan and they were nervous that Inspector had Thors name.” Potent may have switched without explanation precisely because he actually wanted to look sketchy. That way someone might switch to counter and save Thor. On day two, Jaz and Potent are noticing that SFA has Thors name, so they set him up together. Im still skeptical of this being the “right” move, but as Ive mentioned Im starting to believe this move was more about form and not function. But even when you try to justify the move tactically, you start to think that if it was Potent and Kanye, they would be less concerned by SFA having Thors name than if it was Potent and Jaz.
Jaz wanted to keep Dan around for Day 5. That was concerning to me because it seems like the other Townies came to the conclusion that Dan was worth removing from the equation to provide a bit of clarity around Potents post on Day 5.
And now here on Day five, Kanye has put in what feels like much more effort. Im putting in a similar amount because this feels like some high stakes shit and Im representing the rest of the dead townies (rip). Jaz began to put in a little more effort once called on it, but it was after Kanye voted for him. So he may have seen his angle at me failing and realized that he actually needed me to vote for Kanye. So then he started flipping his momentum a bit. I then started going through kanyes game. Its possible that when I flipped over to do more analysis on Jaz again that Jaz... idk got frustrated? He kind of weirdly started talking emotionally for some reason. Seemed very out of character.
Jaz is who my head thinks mafia is. Kanye is who my heart/gut thinks mafia is.
I don’t feel great about it, but I think Im more comfortable losing to Kanye here. It very well may be revealed that he is truly my Kryptonite... so be it. He played a great fucking game if so.
The only reason this isn’t locked is because I’d always want to leave a window open for a Townie to defend themself. Im feeling pretty certain that this is where I will stay though.

I want to reiterate how torn Ive been over this. I almost want to apologize to you after if Im wrong. Ill just legit be sad.
I unfortunately think we were destined to be at odds here in Day 5. A mafia Kanye / Potent may have seen that and kept you around for that reason. There are just too many competing thoughts.
I agree with your sentiments though. I spent my entire bday thinking about this game and I dont feel much better now than I when I woke up about my decision. I want this to end.
I don’t think either of us are budging. If either of us did, it would probably require a massive amount of effort and then one of us could still likely be wrong.

God why did I vote last now the pressure is on me. I'm quite literally going to sleep on it. I'll hopefully be up by 10 but tomorrow's my off day so we will see. Pablo, of my vote isn't in by 10:30 please extend the round for us to debate. I do think all points have been made so I'm just gonna see how a fresh mind feels about everything when I wake up
