Without thinking about Thor, I think this best points to Potent, Kanye and Jaz. Probably in that order.
Ill need to read through again, but I think Potent would have chosen someone else if he was mafia worried about his name being known. Ill have to look back again. Hes definitely worthy of this runoff for obvious reasons not worth expanding on again.
For Kanye, and to a lesser exent Jaz, I’m picturing Tainted as Inspector knowing Kanyes name and trolling Kanye after 2-3 of his posts. Like he knows Kanyes bullshitting and hes just fucking with him like “wHaT eLsE dO yOu ThInK kEnNy?” I think he interacted with a couple of Kanyes posts in an unfair way like that. But maybe he knew Kanye didn’t deserve to be treated fairly. Even if you don’t buy this line of thinking, I can see a scenario where Mafia felt like that “kenny” post was a little too weird and close for comfort.
As for Jaz, Tainted had a trollish comment like that after one of his posts, as opposed to 3 of Kanyes.

Even if he does think "Mafia Potent" wouldn't have voted for Taint, it's a little bit disingenuous to act like him voting for you is inconsistent. There are reasons to vote for you and he said you were his first choice. One outlying assumption doesn't make his vote illogical. It comes across as contrived, as if you're trying to create inconsistencies that aren't really there.

I don't think Potent is that obvious of a choice really. At least as some are making him out to be
I think his vote change to Thor got mythologized a bit and people were claiming it pointed to something that there is literally no proof of. But it somehow became a tell. All Danbob said was sometimes Potent has been know to make vote changes like that when he's mafia and has no stakes in the vote.... as a way to muddy the waters. That might be true or at might not. As Dan said himself, there's no way of knowing for sure. Later in the round it was brought up as if it was something more than that. Like we had a lead, when we literally didn't know anything besides Potent saying he changed based on a gut feeling.
As I've already talked about with the whack. It leads to Potent in a roundabout way but one that could very easily be something the mafia looked at as a secondary benefit. Namely it works to set up a person that town is already looking at.
I don't really care who we pick today but we should make sure we suss out the facts once day 2 comes around. With that in mind, let's make sure I'm in the runoff with potent.
This is in direct response to the conversation coming before it. So either it's Inspector Taint overtly showing his hand or it's him dicking around and bring up the name that was already a topic of conversation. Considering Tainted pretty much dicked around the entire game, it's really hard for me to know how serious to take it. His last post before the whack even says he's "been in noway helpful."
He also asked Kanye what else he'd noticed besides Potent. So we are doing the work connecting Potent there. Who freaking knows if that was Taint's intent at all?
Overall, my feeling is there are certainly things pointing at Potent's direction but if you look at the overall picture a lot of it isn't that strong and, knowing how mafia operates, there is reason for us to at least keep in mind that the whack could be partly to frame him. I'd also like to bring up that round 1 was pretty strange and I think there were signs that Thor could be mafia as well. If that's the case, Potent put the nail in the coffin there. Could he have been covering his own ass? Sure.
Potent is on the back-burner for me. I see reasons why it wouldn't be safe to let him survive in later rounds. But I feel there's too much conflicting information for us to use round 2 to off someone that's a possible set-up/possible helped vote off mafia round 1. That seems unproductive.

I can't decide what I want to do here. I agree with Jaz's idea of getting a Dan voter in there(me, jaz, Jortles, Maddawg). But I'd also like to get someone less talkative in. Was thinking JamestheRam... who has more posts than a couple players but they are mostly short little quips.

Which is another reason I think Dan voters is a field that could use some narrowing. Although, we don't want to get too blinded there.

You didn't answer my question.
I'm not acting like a hero lol. My feeling is that, in this little thing of ours, the pot needs to be stirred and then the stirred pot needs to be analyzed. I'm not the best at the latter, so I try to make my contribution by doing the former. If nobody else is going to get you talking, I'll take on that role.
I don't know who mafia potent would have whacked because there were multiple options. That's what I was saying. Nobody else was really coming at Kanye at all on Day 1, so the one person that was kinda trolling behind many of his posts may make sense. However, that "trolling" line of thought that I brought up is weaker and less direct than Tainted saying to make sure you are in the runoff.
If I were you, I would have been looking at Dan, Kanye, Tainted, and me (Jortles) as possible inspectors with my name. However, the concern that me / Dan / Kanye expressed about you was a little more direct while Tainted's was at least slightly veiled.
If I were Kanye, I'd be looking maybe only at Tainted, but I would probably be thinking that Inspector didn't have my name.

I haven't been able to do a complete read through yet as I was celebrating memorial day yesterday. I work today and tomorrow from 2-10 so hopefully I can get it done by the time my shift starts today. If not I'll work some stuff out during my break, it seems as if there won't be too much to pour over though

Now that this game is moving, I will say why I was reading Town on Kanye yesterday. It is kind of related to quietness (why I'm quoting you). I do need to plant a flag here and admit that this line of thinking is self serving.
I've continuously said that it felt to me like this game was going smoothly for Mafia in the first two rounds. I think they were very comfortable with the quiet D1 we were having. At some point, I said to myself as a vanilla Towny, "ok someone needs to stir the pot and fling some bullshit at the wall to get SOME interesting conversation going." So I have tried to do that. I don't see the need for Mafia to have stirred the pot late into Day 1 assuming everything was going fine. They would have probably been thinking like "damn this shit is moving so slow can't wait to just get to Day 2 so we can plot the next significant move."
So at the top of page 6, Kanye really kicks off a good amount of substantive conversation. Ideally, I would have liked to see Kanye go even further in that direction and be even more provocative. He worded everything in a way where he can come back to it and say "this was all just soft and I don't think that way anymore." If he had ruffled some feathers there I would have felt even stronger about him being Town.
Disclaimer: Mafia can do anything blah blah blah, Mafia kanye may have realized he was looking out of character if he didn't plant a large post by now. I end up going in circles in every Mafia game, but I'll just say again that I liked that Kanye post.

All of that makes sense in one view of the game... where we have three mafia and a whack based on a bunch of trollish posts.
That's fine and statistically maybe the better way to look at it. The tendency is to consider the first round lynch a wash. But, I think it's silly to completely discount Thor as a possibility because that closes off an entire different read of events. I'm not basing everything I do or think off of it but I'm going to bring up possibilities. If we don't at least consider it we could be off course all game. Especially if Taint was inspector and we get no more info.
As to Potent being whacked if Thor was mafia. I doubt an inspector would make a huge first round move against their known name like that. So that's not as open and shut as you might think. When I'm mafia we don't tend to pick the person doing the big moves as possible inspector. At least not in round one, because they tend to be flying under the radar to some degree.
