Kacey was solid at acl. Wouldn’t mind Tyler Childers playing a set at hangout as well.
They were both great at ACL. Was front row for Lacey and she was fantastic. Tyler was a big awesome surprise for me. I had heard White House Road before but his whole set was tight!
One of my daughter's friends, who is 95% straight edge, decided to go ahead and break some rules in 2018 and bring in a couple dimes of cola. She was in a bikini. For whatever reason, and this is no hippie chick, they decided to pull her aside and feel her up INSIDE HER FUCKING BIKINI, with a pair of gloves and found like 20.00 of contraband. This was an honor student who doesn't drink or smoke and made a mistake who is now a felon. Fuck those assholes.

the reports of this being a cop trap a few years ago scared me off
For sure. It was actually fairly chill in 2014 and especially 2015 whereas I got accosted in 2012 twice (with nothing on me) and 2013 was hit and miss. Longinus and Sgt. Blotter noted that in the first couple years, they had elevated spots and started raiding the crowd (I think Paul Simon was the big one they hit). All those shithole cities you used to have to drive through went out of their way to make sure revenue was up. Don't drive 30 in a 25 I guess. But yeah, bad lineups (relatively) in 2016 and 2017 drove us away. 2018 and 2019 were non-starters. Not that they didn't have a couple of cool acts, but I wasn't going to be out $1,000 for either of those 4.

I got felt up by a cop too for no reason. I didn't have anything illegal so I was fine but the cop looked down my pants on the front side. Literally for no reason. I'd gone through security and the cop started yelling at me and searched me again

only ever had one issue with a cop who tried to take my carabiner clip i had on my backpack for my shoes and said it could be used as a weapon. i told him he was nuts and to go get his boss, which he did, and allowed to keep it. but in 2015 i felt harassed by staff all 3 days with nothing but a flask each day that they only got once anyway

They didn't go quite that far with me either time, but that's not far off. This cop was a power tripping asshole. I had gone through security and he pulled me over after and got all ugly and loud and dick-cop like raising his voice and trying to be intimidating. I called him out a little and told him I understand they have to do it, but they should be less confrontational with the guests. I found out a few years later about that kind of cop training. A buddy of mine was above top-secret in the Army and one of his company members was a dickhead cop from St. Tammany Parish, LA (Slidell/Mandeville/Covington). He asked him why St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's are assholes, and he said they are trained that way to be in your face and confrontational. Fuck them too. Give me some protecting and serving cops all day over the ones who get their rocks off being on a fucking power trip

that and the bad lineups
king t is always doing loads of drugs...
I don’t really do anything illegal at festivals. Heavy police presence usually just ruins my mood. I saw a guy get his campsite raided and car impounded at Roo 2017 and that bummed me out.
In my last year going here, 2015, the cops were a bit heavy handed. I didn’t get stopped or bothered at all (which was a minor miracle) but one guy in my crew got pulled out of line every single time. Multiple times a day. The girls also said that security took some liberties.

That sounds terrible. I totally don't mind cops standing around being cops. At LiB, it was actually more reassuring knowing there was a heavy police presence and noticeable SWAT in certain hotel balconys in Las Vegas with all things considered. A bunch of cops busting and bullying people sounds like a complete downer.
At the very least it makes him more likely since we'll know he'll be active in 2020.
I had a fun time mapping all of the Southern cities he hits on both legs of this tour (Houston, Jacksonville, Tampa, two Metro Atlanta dates, throw Bonnaroo in there too) and it coincidentally creates a solid 300 mile circle around Gulf Shores. No dates in New Orleans or Tallahassee, yet he's stopping in Hershey, PA? He did just do Voodoo though, so probably can't read into any of this beyond the fact that he'll still be out doing shows.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
