I love when people criticize anything from the current administration, people just assume you're these huge Trump supporter and start throwing links at you of shit he did.
The way this stuff is ramping up right now is really frightening. The governor of Arkansas vetoed their bill but I saw somewhere the veto could be overridden with a simple majority anyway.

It's literally the new "gay panic" bullshit. Gay people are now more accepted so they have to target their hate and weird hang-ups on a more marginalized group. It's so fucked.
Brian Kilmeade thinks the Meg and Harry interview is what killed 99-year old walking corpse Prince Phillip. Same dude who probably says George Floyd just happened to die coincidentally from drugs as a police officer knealt on his neck for ten minutes.

Probably the same feelings as when he was running for President for me assuming his platform hasn’t changed significantly. You can do worse but you can also do better. He’s certainly a very intelligent man. I still haven’t made up my mind on UBI because under his plan (please correct me if I’m wrong), it takes away valuable public programs that act as a safety net. I see value in these programs as they seem to do the trick in Europe. if he wins, I hope that he proves my doubts wrong and does great things for NYC.

I really don't like where the future of policing seems to be heading. Robots, tanks, SWAT gear and other insane equipment.
How long until we get a story about one of these robot dogs killing a suspect? It's going to happen at some point.
I get the impulse to be concerned, but one can legislate the robot dogs to not be allowed to have any sort of attacking mechanism in it. I would imagine thats already the case. Cant do that with German Shepherds.

I want to have this optimism. I just look at how policing is done these days and it worries me. Yeah, we can legislate and make rules and laws and stuff but that requires the cops to follow them. We've already legislated stuff about them not killing unarmed suspects and abusing their authority but that doesn't seem to stop them.
I also assume that as of now there's no "attack" mechanism or whatever. That doesn't mean there couldn't be accidental deaths when things don't go according to plan.
Basically, I don't like cops getting all these new tools and weapons when they've shown they have trouble serving and protecting with the stuff they already have.
If a cop is going to mistake a taser for a gun and murder people maybe we don't need to give them robot dogs and shit.
