"I typically catch 20-25 artists perform at each Big Ears Festival. With that metric in mind, this is a mix of the 20-25 artists I hope to catch in 2020. Note: this list will likely change as more artists are announced."
"Speaking of Big Ears 2020, you can expect our second line up announcement within the next week or two, with another two dozen excellent additions to our line up along, plus news about a few special performances. Stay tuned!"

It's not going to happen, but wouldn't it be amazing if the Residents staged this at Big Ears? "God in 3 Persons" is one of my absolute favorites from their catalog...

Would be nice to see The Residents in the lineup. Aren't they from Louisiana? I'd think it shouldn't be hard to book them for Big Ears.
Originally, but they moved pretty quickly to California (1966), years before they ever released a recording, or gave a performance, as "The Residents."
A Winged Victory for the Sullen makes a lot of sense for this with their announced dates.
At this point, I'd be surprised if they weren't one of the two dozen names.
I'm curious if there's a bigger name than Devendra. I don't dislike him, I just think there has to be something to top him. If I'm not mistaken, he's not even the #1 name at Levitation.
We’re excited to unveil the second wave of the Big Ears 2020 line up next week along with a couple of special performances. Some wonderful surprises are in store, so be on the look out!
I did think it was interesting they referenced Pitchfork so much in the email press release. They do review some avant stuff but just seems a little strange theres not a smaller pub they reference.

I'm probably most excited for AWVFTS and Josephine Foster.
I saw Patti last month and it was incredible. Hoping for another great performance this go round. Also finally glad to see Ken Vandermark playing BE. I used to see the Vandermark 5 a lot in Chicago and they consistently blew me away. Since then, I've only seen him once (KV/Tim Flowers duo) and need more in my life.
