Not a fan of/unsure of the add-ons but I got my band today, which came with a reusable straw, plant seed paper, and some other goodies. If nothing else I can't wait until I can see Sunshine Grove all dressed up in 35 days. Work has been killer lately and I'm ready for a break. My theory is for what it lacks in lineup it will make for in ambiance.
Also, being able to see Glass Animals on Sunday then be home, showered and in bed by 11:30(ish) = a win for me.
So excited Okeechobee is returning, a top 4 festival for me personally! Love hanging out on the beach (drinking my own beer) during the day, then dancing in the jungle and at the fire stage all night. Actually has my favorite overall lineup of the year so far, Friday is simply all around bonkers and Rufus du Sol are so beautiful life.
My personal Okeechobee 2020 artist playlist for anyone interested, 200 songs (best on shuffle)
Was able to change my flight from Boston Calling to go to okechobee sat only. I paid the difference, but it wasn't crazy. Really excited for VW, HAIM, and Clairo
Since the daily lineups are out, is it safe to say clairo would clash with haim? clairo is at NOW, haim is at BE. I am really just going for Vampire WEekend, Haim, and Clairo, and was hoping all of them would be on the same stage since I was planning to camp out at rail all day
Just scored a cheap flight into Florida so I’m officially in for my first Okeechobee. First time renting a car for a festival. Any tips or suggestions?
How does daily parking work? Like, at what time do they start booting cars? I am only going on saturday, and want to stay all the way until VW, then me and my friends are heading back. I am also renting a car so definitely don't want any surprises

Do not speed. There are cops from several surrounding counties looking for any excuse to pull people over. The amount of people we saw last time getting their car ripped apart on the side of the road was ridiculous. Just don't drive like an asshole and use cruise control and you'll be good.
Traffic will be rough if you get there Thursday any time before the evening. Two lane roads only, so fill up on gas.

The schedule is out, and the conflicts are minimal for me. They've done an excellent job with scheduling; I'm impressed. Super hyped for Glass Animals' 75 minutes of jungle peanut butter vibes

I had been bracing for brutal Saturday conflicts, and to come away with the ability to go Clairo > Bob Moses > HAIM > Blood Orange > VW > Tipper/PoWow has me absolutely giddy. Only major conflict for me will be Ghostland Observatory and Glass Animals. My girl and the rest of our crew have not seen Glass Animals yet so I will wager that's where we will end up, but we will see where the vibes carry us.
Is anyone actually at this thing? Let's get some report outs. Really interested in the VW pow wow tomorrow
Just looked up the weather and it looks like the nights get cold! Bundle up
I'm here! Weather is beautiful (REALLY cold last night, wind chill of 37 - brrr). Rufus Du Sol was a disappointment. Their drummer was injured or something and they just seemed off. Ivy Lab and Caspa were good. Crooked Colours was wonderful, Big G was a damn party, and Bassnectar threw a ridiculous hard and heavy brain-scrambler. The rocket launch in the middle of it was pretty special. The new HERE stage is nuts, the Jungle looks great, and Insomniac has stayed true to the original Okee vibe. Pricier stuff but overall I'm super happy.
Well I didn't see them on stage and according to reddit, nope. They played their own set, I know that, and we came to the PowWow around 1 because we weren't feeling Tipper. It was supposed to start at 11:30... there was no music playing. Like, none. Eventually around 1:30 Corey Wong (I think) and some other dudes were up there trying to make the best of it, but people were running around the stage not knowing what was going on and the sound/lights kept messing up. It was straight up bad.
Anyway. Top 10:
LSDream Glass Animals Grandson Bassnectar Big Gigantic G Jones Slenderbodies Crooked Colours Mersiv Ivy Lab
Sad about Alison Wonderland canceling and I had to miss Maya Jane Coles, and apparently she slapped.
Otw back right now, over all I enjoyed the hell out of Okee. While they weren’t quite like Bonnaroo the smaller crowds were really nice and it was super quick and easy to get anywhere. My only crowd complaint is from Saturday night, it seemed that the vast majority of the festival was there for tipper and I ended up leaving shortly after he started because it was so packed and cold I couldn’t get comfortable in the crowd but Mersiv LSDream and G Jones before him were really good, the crowd not so much. The weather was perfect aside from it being like 40° Saturday night and pretty close to that Friday. Security at the main venue entry seemed to take their jobs seriously but were never rude or anything like that, campground entry was easy and plenty of staff walking around checking on people in the crowd making sure things were good. Food was expensive as hell ($15 for two chicken tenders and fries) but I also didn’t look around too much to see all my options. Showers were nice and hot. The sound at all stages was really nice and heavy no complaints from any show I saw except for during a couple Glass Animals songs.
After how well this year went I think I’m gonna get presales for 2021, it’ll be interesting to see how they program next year after it seems like atleast 60% of the festival is there just for edm or rap (but I can’t say much cause out of the 28 shows I saw only 6 were non edm) I like them keeping things mixed but it definitely could be done a little better because it was crazy seeing how thin some crowds were for non edm shows.

Had the best time at Okee! I shuttled in which kind of sucked because our bus broke down first and then dropped us off at the wrong place. Other than that. Tent only camping was awesome as it was only like 30 of us in the beautiful area under the trees. It was a bit of a hike to the actual festival but it was awesome none the less. EVERYTHING at this fest was expensive except for the merch. $14 for a truly, 16 for a single 22 for a double. And Gtfo with those tiny ass cups. $9 slice of pizza, But they had a lot of food options like gator Mac and cheese and I had a bomb as turkey leg. The production of the stages were awesome. Each stage looked so u unique. Other than the PowWow really had no production complaints. Mumford said during their set and I agree that this is a “tiny festival” I couldn’t believe it almost felt like 15,000-20,000 max. Only felt overwhelmed during Bassnectar, Griz, and Tipper. I had so much fun though all four days and hopefully we get to do it again next year. also Tripping through Griz>Glass Animals> Mumford was really refreshing way to end the weekend.
Top sets: Griz, Glass Animals, Lotus, St. Paul, Said The Sky
Also that was my first Bassnectar show, all i kept hearing the wooks around me saying is “he’s holding back” “lorin isn’t fucking with us tonight” and things like that. Does he do this often? I enjoyed it but it wasn’t what I expected.

Nahh, he usually goes in for his Okee sets and this one wasn’t really any different, I re watched the set otw home yesterday and idk what they were on but that was a great set by him imo, not as good as his Bonnaroo 2018 set I last saw but still good and he dropped a few songs that should’ve made “real” bass heads happy. Crowd did feel a little off though.

I finally got around to watching the GRiZ set on YouTube. It was pretty good. I've seen him so many times and none of the shows are really all that similar (as this wasn't also). They had some good parts. He brought some Lizzo in with the crowd for Good as Hell, and I felt like the remix of Bass Head at the end as a nod to Bassnectar who was there that weekend was pretty good. I fucking miss Lotus though. I don't think I've seen them (except on streams) since like 2016 or so. :/

Lotus did not disappoint on Friday. Squealed like a little girl when the riff for Gilded Age kicked in as they closed their set - was only the third time I've seen Lotus but it's been a song I've been chasing for years. Have to give a shout out to Papadosio as well, it was one of the best jam band sets I've ever seen. ARIZONA into Rufus on Thursday was the perfect way to kick things off, the vibes and production at Rufus in particular were phenomenal. Bob Moses & Clairo were Saturday's highlight - with an honorable mention to Blood Orange.
We ended Sunday with Glass Animals > San Holo > Mumford. You could tell Dave's voice was a little rusty at first, which is to be expected given the time off, but they definitely grew into the set and finished really strong. San Holo ranks as the biggest surprise of the weekend, his new show featured a full backing band and a fair amount of new material. The current environment has definitely robbed him off some helium, but I think he could eventually be mentioned in the same breath as Rufus/ODESZA one day as there has been incredible growth with his live show. Mumford was the perfect capstone to a beautiful weekend - although it was definitely eerie at the time hearing Marcus say that this may be the last festival for awhile. (We were thankfully disconnected from our phones all weekend, it wasn't until leaving Monday we learned how dire things were getting)
Only gripes were some sound issues, in particular the base/drum sound on the NOW stage. We had to leave The Aces on Sunday as all we can hear was the drum. It seemed like all weekend artists were motioning to the booth for changes to the sound (Clairo in particular was visibly frustrated). Also, HAIM was clearly having a lot of technical issues, got so bad that we left early and went to see a little of LSDREAM. Lastly, thankfully we didn't wait around for the PoWow - apparently Vampire Weekend didn't even show? Which was strange as even HAIM was hinting they would be there, but Vampire Weekend's crowd was definitely very light so I wonder if they blew it off because of that.
