Me having a hard time with logistically getting there confirmed
Everyone’s up my ass to go. This year it’s the weekend a week after Mardi Gras (25th) and two weeks before Buku. So it lines up essentially unopposed with other shit going on. Maybe, but it’s going to be up to whether or not the lineup has enough shit I like compared to Bonnaroo.

If everything goes perfect I will hopefully be doing an assignment in New Orleans that may end right before that and I'd be totally down to go

I currently have no friends that are going, and I had planned to wait to see a lineup. But I got invited to the loyalty presale yesterday and just decided "YOLO". I got a car camping ticket for the weekend on layaway. I have a good feeling about it. Also, moving to CO next summer. This will be my final chance to get out to Okee (cheaply and conveniently, at least) so I decided I may as well have a last hurrah.
I tried to get 6 tickets yesterday for Christmas presents, and they blocked me at 4. So I emailed them about the restriction and also the $70 in fees per ticket which would come to $420.00. They responded that there's nothing they can do for me as that's how they (Front Gate Tickets) make a profit and they have no way to override the 4 ticket limit. I suggested that they check my Front Gate ticket list as there are several pages of my orders or have group sales call me, but they won't. So fuck 'em. I might go if the lineup is good, but I'll look elsewhere for the Christmas presents.

Ask a family member or friend to buy the extra two and send them the money?

If I was working right now and my gig didn't get pushed, that loyalty presale would have gotten me. I looked and pondered and almost bought.

Really nervous about the lineup leaning heavy on cheesy electronic.
Unfortunately I'd be surprised if it didn't. It almost feels like a foregone conclusion this will be Electric Forest South. Not the worst thing in the world, as ironically part of the big draw for both is the awesome location and etc. related to the festival itself. Still would be disappointing.

To me, cheesy EDM is the shit crap that is generally in the Top 20 of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's. I'd consider going if it was Electric Forest styled and there was actually decent musical acts there that played livetronica vs. big room garbage that's geared toward people with much more casual and limited musical knowledge or experience.

That's really what I meant, I'd expect it to have both but much of the top names (and money) will be the top 20 DJMag artists. And the main thing, way less variety of music in general than previous Okee's.
Agreed. It's a big unknown because Insomniac is all over the map. There are festivals it owns or books that hold almost no interest to me (outside of a random small stage somewhere) like Holy Ship, Electric Daisy Carnival, Escape Psycho Circus to shit maybe I'd go to to see some of it if it was here (Audiotistic, Paradiso, Hard Summer) to things I would go to like Electric Forest.
So it's definitely a big ? at this point which way they're going to try to go with it. I'm almost thinking they may go more jam side (String Cheese, Lettuce, Pretty Lights, etc.) just because Ultra covers the other side on its own. I guess we'll see in the next couple months.
