Wasn't the suggestion last year that we might be in for Porno for Pyro's reunion? Honestly, would not be shocked to see Perry play multiple days at this or trot out some kind of super set.
Also seen it hinted that a Gnarls Barkley reunion could be in the mix for this as well.
Haha. The last time I saw them which was in 2015, they employed the meathooks. I thought it was pretty cool. All my kids showed up and brought a bunch of their friends over to that set. Nobody left as I think they were mesmerized by all the shit going on. It was of particularly significance since my oldest's lullabye was Jane Says and I got to sing it to him loud in his fucking ear again. haha
Kendrick/Foo Fighters/Post Malone/Billie Eilish The Killers/Lizzo/Journey/Gnarls Barkley

I have no idea if The Killers will be in playing shape by then since Brandon Flowers had surgery early this year, but it feels like there needs to be another rock act beyond FF and Journey. Black Keys don't pull that kind of weight anymore, Pearl Jam is probably too pricey with the rest of this line-up, and most of the other rock acts that we know to be doing shows played Lolla recently (Tame, Strokes, etc).

The Killers at 5 would be shocking to me. They’ve been top 4 the last 4 times they’ve played including #2 in 2017. I could see them playing but they’d have to be south stage imo.
Could see Lolla giving the bump to Cage The Elephant just because they have a big history with the fest ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, Cage is actually a decent option -- especially if they just want to provide an alternative to a monster draw (which would be the case with Gnarls and Journey as well).
I struggled with The Killers playing the North too, but other big acts have done it (Sabbath, Arcade Fire, NIN, The Strokes, Coldplay) -- and I'd be hard pressed to move any of that Top 4 off of the South given where they stand in the public eye at the moment. The Killers also don't come off as a band that would be particularly hung up on that, and have always been game to play (which means a lot in such a weird year).

the Killers played the second stage at BSMF 2019 🤷♂️
There will be one, if not two EDM artists in the top 8
Maybe 1, but I can't see there being 2 given how flush with EDM festivals Chicago is going to be this summer/fall. I'm not even entirely sure how they are going to fill out the Perry's top slots, though some rap options like DaBaby may help with that.

The Killers would be top 4 and Lizzo too in all likelihood. Just take Kendrick off and that lineup is probably similar to what it will be.
As much as I dislike the blind on-sale as a general tactic, with tickets going as fast as they have this year I wouldn't mind keeping it around until 2022.
It really looks like they played this perfectly. They kept their date, are the first out of the gate (in the calendar), and were one of the last festivals to announce and thus were able to confirm that it would be safe to do so.
