those aren't even the bad rock bands on the lineup lol
I just don’t think they make sense on this lineup and require higher billing than they’ll attract. Old people that want to see them are too busy complaining about rap music on the lineup to actually attend this. That money could have gone towards someone that is actually still making interesting music.
Playboi carti and Post Malone are the closest things to contemporary rock on this lineup too so it’s not like when Death Cab opened for Tame

Ehh I was pretty appalled when I saw her at Primavera two years ago.
I agree with this but I think the issue was that the She Is Coming EP was pretty bad. New album is at least better than that. But I think she also hasn’t had an arena tour because her last big tour before her 2019 fest run was the Flaming Lips thing, which was also crazy expensive if memory serves right. She could easily do arenas today.
I know Miley released an album last year, but am just not sure whether it was a hit and if another arena tour would sell. Pop fanbases can be fickle.

Seriously, though, did I miss a moment when people actually started wanting Limp Bizkit to do things, again? I thought the world had kind of agreed that they were terrible and it was better if they went away.
Unless...is this, like, an ironic thing? Like, people are going to show up at their set and just laugh about how shitty they are?

Yeah exactly, just mosh and point and laugh during the whole set. You could do a lot worse at a festival.

As someone who lived through Limp Bizkit the first time...no, I'm not sure I quite could do worse.

Probably irony. Doesn't mean they couldn't be fun to see. Everyone knows Durst is a tool, but I always liked Wes and Lethal. Also, how do you not go see them if they're playing even if just for schadenenfreude.
doesn't look that different from the Bonnaroo lineup people are slobbering all over, except this one at least has Limp Bizkit
and Bonnaroo has
Lizzo Tame MMJ King Gizz RTJ Janelle Lana
Different strokes, there's definitely a handful of great hip-hop bookings here I would love on the Roo lineup (Freddie Gibbs, JPEGMAFIA, and Princess Nokia especially), but pound for pound almost none of the acts I'm most excited for at Roo are here
the main difference between Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza this year is that this year you can share a real moment with someone while finger banging them during Ghosts n Stuff and you can’t do that at Lolla this year :/

i mean you could do that with Lolla too, which has Kaytranada, TNGHT, Gibbs, JPEGMafia, Brockhampton, Slowthai, Earthgang, Whitney, White Reaper, etc.
there are different names on each, but its not as if one is head and shoulders above the other in terms of quality
what bands should they have booked? The people clamoring for more acts like Jimmy Eat World certainly aren’t selling me on rock being relevant in 2021.
