I love signs and made Evelyn watch it last year. It still slaps.
I stopped watching Woody Allen movies in the late 90s when his behavior first surfaced. I couldn't tell you the last movie I watched by him. Where is this new show? I'd like to watch. I didn't even know about it.

4 part series on HBO. Last one airs this Sunday. I get madder with each part.
woody allen wasn't blacklisted because he won a ton of court cases against mia, who wasn't exactly a no one and was the one who hired Dershowitz.
I haven't watched the documentary, but I sort of understand the nuts and bolts.
I think he's a weird creep who definitely had a thing for young girls (which is sort of a not specific to just him from that era), but I don't think he sexually assaulted dylan.

Watch the show and let us know if you still stand by the last clause.

I'm sure it's a lot, but from what I've seen it's really one sided. doesn't go into mia's alleged abuse of her kids (one of which killed themselves), her brother being in jail for child abuse.
idk I just have a hard time seeing mia as a reliable narrator.

Dylan's story is narrated by her, though. The day after he abused her. So you'd have to believe that Mia is so good at coaching her child that a 7 year old immediately remembered this story as her own and hasn't significantly varied from it in 30 years.
I'm pretty sure he got off due to inconsistencies in the testimony lol
not trying to really defend the dude, or trash the doc. I've just seen a handful of things mentioning the one sidedness of the piece.
I'm not a fan of his, seen very little of his work, mostly because I'm so turned off by the marry your son's (lol though idk I still think he's franks) sister while she's a teenager thing.

Not to mention that adult Dylan herself spoke about the event, and the subsequent firestorm of events that followed, in great detail. Unless we get some bombshells to the contrary in Ep4, it's pretty cut and dry.

The "inconsistencies in the testimony" are addressed in Ep3.

We should definitely question everything. I don't think you're defending Woody. I, however, think he is a vile piece of shiz even more than I did 2 weeks ago.

post me too pre doc the thing that really kind of had me like well idk whatever was the oldest kid saying the things about mia. just seems like it was an awful situation for all the kids.
This quote was from an interview in 2018 and not from the documentary, but it is very relevant to the discussion. I've put it in spoilers because it is basically a spoiler, but also because it might be triggering.
“What I don’t understand is how is this crazy story of me being brainwashed and coached more believable than what I’m saying about being sexually assaulted by my father?” - Dylan Farrow in a 2018 interview with CBS
I mean, the Miss Piggy people aren't wrong. She's also a poor representation of large people.
Agreed. Although I think they lessened her aggression toward Kermit in the 90s, and her and Kermit's relationship went from her stalking him, into something real. But it's been a hot minute since I have watched the Muppets, I could be wrong.
Not in a lot but definitely in a few. See kids, just be persistent when she tells you no and runs away from your kisses.
I don't remember Miss Piggy romantically forcing herself on Kermit. I remember her Karate chopping him but never forcing him to kiss her. Again, I could be wrong, it has been awhile.

I haven't seen the HBO documentary about Allen vs Farrow and I would bet the dude is guilty, but the whole family dynamic there was insane. Has the show also talked about how the other siblings think about it? Moses Farrow, for one, doesn't buy it and is on his dad's side.

It's interesting to read another side to the story, but there are also multiple adults and children from the documentary that have disputing facts/stories to much of what he is saying to defend Woody. There are multiple witnesses that testified saying that Soon-Yi was visiting Woody alone at his apartment when she was still in high school
and that the maids were cleaning the sheets and throwing away condom wrappers after she left his apartment. Again, she was in high school at the time. So at best, she was 18 and doing this behind everyone's back. At worst, she was a minor. And regardless, this is far earlier than the timeline that Woody and others have claimed the relationship started. It wasn't until she was in college that they were doing things like basketball games in public together
.
It honestly reads like something Woody wrote or helped Moses write. Moses was taken under Woody's wing at a very young age and would undoubtedly be loyal to him. But I can easily see how someone could read that and think Mia and Dylan are lying, or how someone can watch the documentary (like I have) and think that Woody is lying (and I suppose subsequently Moses, although Moses admits that he didn't see the assault happen nor can he deny that it happened).
TL;DR - if I have to choose between believing Mia and Dylan or Woody and Moses, I'm choosing Mia and Dylan. It's choosing to believe a man who has decades of films involving older men and very young women and who was having a sexual affair with a high school student that he'd known since she was like 9, or choosing to believe the woman who is accusing him of molesting her when she was 7.
