If they are being genuine and really seeking help for their benefit, then good for them. But I can't help but wonder how much of this is forced PR from WarnerBros. I guess time will tell.
The thing that sucks about mental health awareness is that now all the bad actors (no pun intended) use it as an excuse to run away from their shitty actions.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

From a lot of the comments I’ve seen, sounds like people have known about his behavior for years and he had a reputation in Montreal, Toronto and New Orleans. I’m sure these four weren’t the only ones taken advantage of.
Their tour starts in 3 days, interesting timing on the powers that be at Conde Nast.
I'm not defending what Win did, if he actually did it.
However, I would agree that the timing is suss. Why sit on stuff like this for so long?
This is bad, and feeds into the idea that women/media/any other group gains something by taking down famous men. Why assume they had the whole article ready to go on a weekday anyway? Isn't it possible Win or his fancy crisis management team tried to delay this as long as possible?

Arcade Fire is done.
Yeah, the noise about this had gotten really loud over the past few months. And I'm afraid that what was in the Pitchfork article is just the tip of the iceberg as it focused on Montreal encounters, but word has it he's been trawling around New Orleans with similar behavior in recent years too. It's such a shame, AF has provided me some of my best concert memories over the past 15 years. Sigh...

I was coming at it from a different angle. I'm not sure how long that P4K been working this story, but you'd think someone would say something sooner so that other innocent people wouldn't wind up becoming his victims.

Another important thing to consider is that victims can take years before they want to come forward, if ever, because they fear retaliation. The people discussed in the article may just just wanted to iron out the details before allowing them to publish it.
they mention reddit posts that came out however long ago but it had never come across anything I saw. definitely seems like word was already out to some degree.

I read a Reddit discussion about his New Orleans trawling of bars in April or May (can't remember exactly when).

They wanted to get the story right. This wasnt Buzzfeed just trying to put a quick hit piece out. Win and Regine having statements ready and such means they had plenty of time to respond and get their ducks in a row. They had a pr firm help em from the moment they knew it was going to pop up regardless of timing. I just think this timing was to make sure anyone who was going to a show or thinking about it made an informed decision.
If they were scrapping the tour they wouldve said it with their statements.

Yeah I think that was specifically about him frequently hitting up college bars and local shows and going after the youngest female patrons.
Super fucking weird that Regina appeared to be totally cool with this behavior too with their open marriage. If they were that open about shit, how did she NOT know he was being a major creep to young women? Most likely she was aware and fine with it, and that's almost just as awful.
As for the timing of all this, I'm sure there are a lot of people who are grateful they were able to lean about this BEFORE attending one of their upcoming shows.

I know it’s cringe around here to have feelings, but this one hits me hard. AF’s music really meant something to me for a long time. My band used to sometimes close our sets with a cover of “Wake Up.” I certainly never pedestalized anyone involved - I know better than to do that at my age - but there’s knowing people are human and can be assholes, and then there’s stuff like this. It’s why I haven’t listened to Ryan Adams for a long, long time despite his being a huge early influence on me as a songwriter.
Obviously, my sadness over being forced to reevaluate my relationship to music I love isn’t the most important part of this story. But still. Sad times for everyone involved.

I think its really valid to have feelings of loss. brand new’s music played a direct role in helping me cope with my depression and preventing me from harming myself when I was younger so naturally i was heartbroken and devastated when the news about jesse lacey came out. While arcade fire doesnt hit quite as hard it still absolutely sucks and its a similar feeling, i had tickets for both shows in boston, they gave me my fav set at coachella this year. It sucks to have to say goodbye to a band you once loved, but ultimately its not fair to the victims and it just wouldnt feel consciously right to continue to listen to them. i hope win faces real consequences for this, especially if there are so many other victims out there we may not have heard from
I haven’t listened to Ryan Adams and I won’t be listening to AF. I was a much bigger RA fan and it hasn’t hurt me as much as I thought it would to let it go.
