Biked by the Dave Chappelle show and watched someone get maced. Can't even keep track of whose getting canceled with this debacle
It's still Chappelle.
100% . I think live comedy sucks and just don't get the influence and draw of it so my thoughts on this thing have been more about how first Ave are complete frauds from their values they proclaim to how they offer very little to the community beyond being another stop on a nationwide tour for artists. mad respect to all the wonderful queer people who work at first Ave who refused to work the Dave show. I just want more than an organization who buys up failing independent venues and turns them into the equivalent of a live nation spot. Gotta get to work to help create that
I think you just don't wear a swastika regardless of whatever point you're trying to make.
yeah i think wearing it without it being crossed out or completely changed was in extremely poor taste. wearing a shirt that said the words “destroy nazism” would have been so much better. I just dont think the dude should lose his career over this

woah really? you've never seen a stand up comedian you liked?
to me it's one of the performance arts i hold in the highest regard, because it's just one person up there entertaining an audience. no light show, no cool sounds, no songs people know, nothing to hide behind. it's just this person trying to make people laugh and keep an audience engaged. no other person or thing for them to lean on, if they suck or are just having a bad night they just die up there. it's the most "without a net" performance one can attempt.
I know some women in the business who’ve had way worse. The internet is a terrible place, and there’s a special place in hell for the WikiFeet people.
Yeah WikiFeet was the first thing I've thought of.
I've also heard people talk about like bear sites, etc. Jon Gabrus is a semi-famous husky comedian and has fake nudes of him floating around. He joked that he would feel worse about it if they didn't always give him an enormous hog.
Then we should probably have had them do spontaneous sword fighting, too, right?
WHY ARE MEN.
This argument drives me up a fucking wall:
“I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise.”
Oh, gee, if only there were people whose job it were to pretend or, say, "act" as if things they are doing artificially are, in fact, natural. OH WELL.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

If they are being genuine and really seeking help for their benefit, then good for them. But I can't help but wonder how much of this is forced PR from WarnerBros. I guess time will tell.
