He's always had some *interesting* political opinions. Has definitely skewed conservative, but wasn't in some neatly defined box.
Let's be very clear about Michael Render/Killer Mike. He has always espoused a belief in gun ownership, tax changes, and the "family" being the priority. He has never been a Republican but he also has never been a Democrat. His beliefs are strong but should only be taken as good debate - not fact. I mean he wrote a song about him taking drugs on a fucking plane and having the stewardess take the wrap because she was bumping lines. He's intelligent, he's capable, he is not infallible

I don't view gun ownership in a country where guns clearly aren't going anywhere as antithetical to leftism. Couldn't care less. Being a pro-cop, pro-Colin Powell landlord sucks shit, though.

Agree 100% I actually fully belive if the left became pro gun. They would destroy the right in general elections since its probably the biggest single issue voter topic
not that I'm discounting anything but it's super hard to take BuzzFeed seriously when they format a fairly important article like that
i am surprised that they are even reporting it at all, honestly. They allegedly were shutting down the news reporting section of their website. One would assume because of the horrible formatting.

I don't know this person, but I think a lot of YouTubers had this type of relationship with their fans (and maybe still do). There's a lot of reckoning on the horizon for parasocial relationships with Gen Z. Now that they're old enough to have hindsight, I think there will be a lot of negative reflection with their access to social media / DMs. There was a lot of unmonitored (and still is) behavior with minors on the internet.

Roseanne is talking ber dumb shit again.
I always laugh when I see people complain about how she got cancelled/fired from her own show because of "one bad tweet" that was racist and how it was because she took Ambien and not that she's just an unstable bigot with a history of saying that shit.
Well here's yet another example of her shitty beliefs. Nobody died in the Holocaust but 6 million Jewish people SHOULD die now. Insane that people can defend her with a straight face
Also, I normally don't have much of an opinion on theo von. I've seen him make transphobic comments and he definitely plays into the Rogan audience types since he has a similar following but fuck him for not even acknowledging or trying to respond about the holocaust comment.
Like, I know he's not a journalist and he probably doesn't want to rock the boat with a big name on his show or whatever but to not even slightly push back about that is gross. Just makes me think that he must also believe nobody died in the Holocaust. You can tell he was struggling to try and redirect the conversation a bit away from holocaust denial and more just about Jews in Hollywood in general. he was reaching for a way to not obviously change the subject but also not keep saying who did or didn't die and who should or shouldn't die.
There's also some casual racism mixed in there too.

Roseanne is Jewish. The context is she was speaking about what she perceives as a government-mandated imposition of facts that doesn't align with reality. She then made the Holocaust analogy as sarcasm to exemplify how vast the gulf between declarations and truth can be. Obviously a moronic comparison to make but she wasn't stating her beliefs. There's a million examples of her turning into a total dipshit but this one is just outrage bait. No one actually believes she denies the Holocaust.

This was my take, as well, but it's so hard to follow when she's being sarcastic and when she's being serious during that interview because her tone and expressions never change. I had to rewatch the minutes leading up to that clip and minutes afterwards a few times to really even understand what her point was.

Fair enough. I definitely didn't go back and list en to the fuller conversation but really wouldn't put anything past her with the other hateful dumb shit she has said.
So what really was her ultimate point? I obviously didn't get it lol
I do not understand Theo Von, seems extremely forced even when not problematic
I don't know where Theo was going... I will tell you the rap industry WAS/IS financially tied to white people of different creeds. It was an entire movement for black artists to even gain the rights back to their music and their masters. De La Soul and Little Brother are prime examples, throw in some NWA, the Gaye family post-death -- she's so full of shit that I can't even bother anymore.

She can talk about her own racial group, as much as she wants... it's none of my fucking business.
But lying and saying that Black people have had control of their musical styling pisses me the fuck off. That's not the history of the industry. Without throwing out what I want to say.. she's just making us dumber.

I don't mind Theo but Bobby Lee is actually disgusting for that Tijuana pedo story he talked about. I'm pretty surprised he didn't get in more trouble for that

i genuinely adore theo, he has one of the most unique minds in comedy today. just the cadence and tonality of his voice, his vocabulary and verbosity, the way he flows from topic to topic, the connections he makes, it's like he's a ginsbergian beat poet but funny. you cannot see the cracks in his standup, it always feels like he is up there just talking off the cuff, when in reality it is just as vigorously and carefully honed and practiced as any good standup set.
it's really hard to distinguish which of his stories of his childhood are true and which are complete bullshit, but we know he grew up in Covington, LA, and probably quite poor for most of his childhood. he was emancipated from his mom at age 14, after which he bounced around various other families while he was in high school. all that to say he comes from a place of being poor, and thus speaks with an ease about poor folks and race that i think makes those of us who are more plugged in to bourgeoisie norms around discussing such topics a little uncomfortable.
i think he is a genuinely kind and sweet person who would never want to hurt anyone's feelings. he's not really an edgelord, his comedy is never mean or cruel, at least not in my opinion.
i always recommend his hot ones episode, still my favorite episode of the show ever.

I honestly still don't really know. I'm pretty sure Theo didn't know either which is why he looks so confused. It's like the ramblings of your drunk aunt who is in early stages of dementia.
Something about how the "truth" gets "mandated" and if you deviate from that truth that you'll get banned from specific sites like Youtube or Facebook. It was a string of a pieces of dumb talking points tied together but never fully developed.
I will say for research purposes I went and listened to more of the interview and she's still pretty funny at times. I wish my ignorant old family members were at least funny when they ranted about shit.

Theo seems like a dude who is super right-wing but knows well enough not to talk about it (most of the time). He had Neal Brennan on once and they talked about Spike Lee briefly and Theo said he didn't like Spike Lee's politics but also seemingly couldn't articulate what those politics were. Gave me a weird vibe from him.

I think he's just another guy that's comfortable if the center/right is in charge and not fucking up the status quo. He may not be hateful and a bad actor, but he's just another person that isn't interested in change or progress because they don't see/think it benefits them. He's also like 40 years old and pretends to be 22, so people like that always creep me out (Rob Dyrdek vibes)

I've definitely seen him be transphobic/make trans jokes or at least go along with/agree with someone else making transphobic statements. But it's not from standup routines and sometimes not on podcast. I've seen random social media clips where that side pops out a little bit but he does seem more like a follower and a "I don't want to rock the boat" type of dude who may also just nod his head to what someone is saying. But then Im pretty sure i've seen clips where he's having a normal/rational conversation about trans issues, too, so it makes me think he just mostly goes with the flow at times. Not really sure but he's definitely laughed at/made jokes about trans stuff that turned me off on him a bit. Otherwise he mostly seems cool/interesting.

Yeah, after I posted this I saw someone else on twitter explain it a bit. Something about how there's a difference in making big statements and equated the reaction someone gets to "Biden didn't win the election" to someone saying "Nobody was killed in the holocaust". Sounds like she was playing a victim a bit because people (rightfully) react to idiots still thinking Biden lost and Trump is president harshly and instantly see where their beliefs lie.
