not cancelled but Damon Albarn has made the Taylor Swift people very mad online
Her response is so annoying lol. He’s way more mean about The Rolling Stones in that interview but you could never imagine any of them responding like “*Gasp* How COULD you say something SO damaging!”
The real asshole in this story is the person behind the LA Times Twitter account who is putting out some clickbait pieces of quotes together trying to make it look like Damon Albarn straight up said Taylor doesn't write her own songs. Damon downplayed Taylor's writing unfairly, but he didn't say what the LA Times is hinting that he said.
Taylor is PROBABLY responding to the idea of what Damon said without actually reading the interview. Because she definitely writes her own music. And he definitely didn't say she doesn't write her own music.

He literally said "she doesn't wrote her own songs" and then when the interviewer said she does, sometimes co-writing, he said "that doesn't count. I know what co-writing is. Co-writing is very different to writing".

How is that out of context or clickbait?
You missed an entire paragraph?
“That doesn’t count. I know what co-writing is. Co-writing is very different to writing. I’m not hating on anybody, I’m just saying there’s a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-writes. Doesn’t mean that the outcome can’t be really great. And some of the greatest singers — I mean, Ella Fitzgerald never wrote a song in her life. When I sing, I have to close my eyes and just be in there. I suppose I’m a traditionalist in that sense. A really interesting songwriter is Billie Eilish and her brother. I’m more attracted to that than to Taylor Swift. It’s just darker — less endlessly upbeat. Way more minor and odd. I think she’s exceptional.“

None of that contradicts the assertion he's making that Swift doesn't write her own songs lol

I don’t know, dudes constantly going on about women who don’t write their own songs is pretty fucking annoying too
Sure. He didn’t bring up T Swift though, the interviewer did, and he praised Billie in the same sentence so I feel like he was just wrong while shooting from the hip. Taylor Swift seems to love to play victim, and it’s kinda lame when you’re like the biggest musician in the world. No one would have even heard about this if she didn’t amplify it.
The real sin is amplifying the sexist trope. Got it.
Nah I think Damon was wrong but she’s still annoying.
she is extremely, extremely skilled and using these situations to her advantage even if I find it somewhat annoying as well. its a talent and shes made a lot of money off it, props to her
