Are all the acts here eliminated? Because losing Car Seat Headrest, Big Thief, Tierra Whack and Whitney on the same day is a gut punch.
Idk shit about shit but European dates three weeks after Roo don't in and of themselves rule anybody out - the real question is whether or not their part of a large European circuit for those acts.
What I’m saying. A lot of those acts are at Lovebox and are otherwise doing European dates that rule them out. I’d think anyone on that poster becomes a lot less likely.

afaik, Tyler, Disclosure, Twigs, HAIM, Big Thief, Wilco, and Charli were already known to be in Europe in June/July. Look at Lovebox lineup weekend of Roo. Big Thief still has June completely open so i’d still be hopeful for them. L’Imperatrice is looking like a no which is a missed opportunity for a banger Thursday night set. Seems like Coachella snatched them.
If none of Big Thief, Car Seat Headrest, Bombay Bicycle Club, Two Door Cinema Club, Angel Olsen, or Weyes Blood are at Roo this year i don’t even know what their play for indie is. Seems we’re getting Foals and/or Local Natives. Other than that i hope it’s not just basic radio shit. Seems like every day these past couple weeks another critically acclaimed indie act of the past couple years gets ruled out. I guess Phoebe Bridgers is still possible 🤞

Not necessarily. If an act has dates announced in Europe prior to that(Before Bonnaroo) it would make them less likely. But if this is the first of only current European date it could signal the beginning of their Europe dates and they very easily could do US shows prior to that.

I may be giving AC too much credit, but they seem to have done a decent job with unique bookings this year and I think they know that those add to making Bonnaroo a festival that stands out. I was thinking about how awesome a Blue Man Group set would be. Something different but I think would pull quite the crowd

Life is Beautiful does a nice job bringing in unique things like that. Granted, it's mostly to promote local Vegas acts, but it makes for a nice change. This year they had Blue Man Group and some Cirque performers come out. Wayne Newton also came out with the Black Keys and put on a comically bad version of Lonely Boy.

Cmon big capp dogg, give me a good clue for Christmas, not some young rapper my old ass doesn't care about (although you guys seem to like him, so I'll have to check him out).
I wouldn't care if J Cole was booked at 4. Though it wouldn't be an exciting booking for me, he's been decent when I've seen him. As for J.I.D, if you've never listened to him (or Earthgang), it's "newer" Atlanta rap (in that he's been around about a decade but has been getting more famous the last 3-4 years). It's got some hype in it, but he raps live and didn't use autotuning (a giant plus for me). DiCaprio 2 was a pretty good release last year if you've never listened to it. He sometimes raps pretty fast like in Off Deez (which features a J Cole cameo). You probably know that, but if not:
JID has some very interesting flows and cadences (and yes Jake I will be doing him as my Band-a-Day haha). I first learned of him from Reddit but my first real exposure was on "Sirens" by Denzel Curry. JID absolutely kills his verse.
JID could play an earlier slot Fri-Sun, but I expect him and Earthgang to play on Thursday in the Saba slot.

Follow-up: JID is pretty dope, nice to see there's some rap crews out there that still give a shit.

Dreamville is basically our current Paid Dues vibe -- some of it is quality but I'll say that it's also a lot more "safety" artists on the label. Great messaging, decent to good songs, but sometimes boring as shit.
