Not asking for a prediction necessarily, but what is a mix of artists that you guys think would get the Phans back on the farm in 2020? Is it just Oysterhead then a couple other lower level jam bands? Would it take like 10 artists? I don’t really know the DNA of the Phan. Maybe they aren’t replaceable at all at Roo and those pol will just go to a full on jam fest instead.

i probably can't offer anything more illuminating than what most others could infer:
-Obvious, but TAB and Primus or Claypool/Lennon -If they could get other side projects from Phish: Vida Blue is out there touring, or MGB. Hell maybe even a Ghosts of the Forest set (Lizzo's guitarist performs with them so that wouldn't be out of the question), that would also get Fishman on the farm. The more Phish members on the farm the more hype phans would be. -Ween -00's jambands: Umphreys, moe., STS9, SCI or SCI side projects, but I think SCI is out? -That New Orleans R&B connection: Meters in some capacity (GPJ), Pres Hall, any of the Nevilles, Soulive/Lettuce -Newgrass bands, whoever they are now -New wave jambands that we are seeing pop-up on lineups: Twiddle, Spafford, etc. -the typical wookbass stuff bonnaroo already books likely appeals to a younger phish fan, EF type stuff. -and of course anything grateful dead related.
in terms of headliners a lot of phish phans in my circles love Tool as well so that already helps. probably some vampire weekend crossover as well.

lets get some follow through here and pretend you have a magic but realistic wand. Who do you specifically book to bring back 75% of the Phans from 19 without reaching a territory of diminishing returns? Idk why this is fun to me.
Oysterhead - Primus - Ween - Umphreys Mcgee - The Meters - Prez Hall - Twiddle - Pigeons Playing Ping Pong

That do the trick? Or is it overkill.
75% is a big ask, i don't know if that is possible without phish themselves.
but if given such a magic but realistic wand and such a mission:
Oysterhead - Primus - Trey Anastasio Band - Ween - Vida Blue - Ghosts of the Forest - Mike Gordon Band - David Byrne - Bob Weir and Wolf Bros - Umphreys McGee - STS9 - George Porter Jr - Melvin Seals and JGB - Marco Benevento - Soulive - Jazz is Dead - Oteil and Friends
and get Mike Gordon to lead the superjam.
i guess the wand is more magic than realistic.
edit: fuck it get fishman to lead the superjam and it's all zappa.

also get dweezil zappa.
Needs more:
Spafford Goose Aqueous Pigeons BIG Something
Don’t need tab and Ghosts, so just throw those in or some warren with the last waltz band
I swore that they said they wanted it to be the last show ever, they were tired of touring
sad if that’s the case
Show was great.. They sure didn't act like they're over it. Probably going to just take a break, but they are getting up there. Considering how much movement they do during the show, I'm not surprised they're tired. It's not"stop making sense"levels of movement, maybe ok go levels
I’m wanting to hope for a That Tent appearance by one of the more technical young acts. Preference would be for Animals as Leaders, Chon or Polyphia. I know they are all different and not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m always hopeful for high talent/virtuoso acts.
