got a ga ticket for nick cave, so thats my first in-between ACL weekends show. Last year I went to a show 11 out of the 12 days from thursday prior W1 to sunday W2 so hoping this year I can do the same thing lol
let's discuss the weeknd. he put out tour dates today and he manages to have 4 stops in Texas but none in Austin. his US tour ends September 3 and he heads off to England on Sunday of W2. he last headlined in 2015. would you guys be down?

I'm in. Love his music. But i'm sure Austin's radius clause extends to San Antonio and he's there in late August. That combined with the fact that he'd be in England during Weekend 2 makes me think he's not going to be there.

San Antonio two months before is too close. I'd count him out.
Him playing SA over Austin probably has more to do with SA having a proper NBA sized arena. Frank Erwin is a little smaller I believe
remember those quizzes they had on the app before the fest? and one of the questions was “who hasn’t headlined?” and Gaga was the right answer. that has to be worth something.

I think I read something earlier in this thread, or maybe on reddit, that they were pumping out Gaga tunes at the end of the fest last year as well. She'd be great. I can already see myself ripping my hair out deciding whether to go to her or her headliner counterpart though.

Edit: spelling
I remember reading that they were playing Fleetwood Mac over the PA at the end of Weekend 2

yeah I recall they reportedly played Fleetwood Mac tunes following Guns 'n' Roses sets last year.
That was extra intriguing solely because I recall them playing Guns 'n' Roses songs following Paul McCartney's set in 2018.
And when Stevie Nicks started popping up on several fest lineups, I can only assume to connect the dots there.
Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks, Lana del Rey, Missy Elliot, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and Gwen Stefani (popping up on the international Lolla festivals) - plenty of female representation opportunities and possibilities for this fest.
i think the case for roger waters is getting a little bit stronger. the original argument against it was that he wasn't doing back to back nights but he updated his tour dates and now he's doing two-night stands in philly, toronto, new york, and san fran. PLUS he has mexico shows in between weekends.
