i think the case for roger waters is getting a little bit stronger. the original argument against it was that he wasn't doing back to back nights but he updated his tour dates and now he's doing two-night stands in philly, toronto, new york, and san fran. PLUS he has mexico shows in between weekends.
His stage shows are pretty elaborate so for him to do back to back shows at the same venue is more realistic than them having to fuck with it. But still, even with all the great shit I’m going to see this year, Roger at ACL would be at or near the top of them all.
I'm assuming we won't get the Genesis reunion? Would love to see them live.
No. Tour starts in Ireland in November. You'll have to wait until next year. If they're still doing anything by the summer, maybe Bonnaroo would have a shot. It's not going to be ACL 2020 though.

Wouldn't be the first time a band announces a EU tour before the US tour but yeah you're probably right.
Ohana revealing Pearl Jam (and M.M.J.) made me excited they're likely here, but then I notice there isn't much cross-over - like 1 or 2 minor acts - between the two fests in prior years.

Theoretically, Friday and Sunday acts for Coachella and ACL could still play both. Still, you'd have to imagine ACL has a significant chunk of acts and their respective days booked already. Definitely some negotiations going on.
Its all about the routing after the second weekend of ACL to get bands to do Coachella. Rage playing Friday at ACL puts them for both Coachella Sundays which isnt insane cause they have to travel once and have a week off in between.

Doesn't this mean that ACL and Coachella most likely were sharing the bigger acts, so it was an easier choice for Coachella to team up with ACL and move their fest to be around the same time to up their chances of keeping the same lineup?

i feel like the only bigger act we have a shot at is Rage. so if coachella can find a way to flip frank and rage, we should be good.
11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Really lineup dependent, but I've just cancelled my trip/flights for Big Ears, so I have points that I need to use, and I can make the first weekend of this happen.

back to speculation, a radio station in detroit jumped the gun on a killers tour date in detroit saturday of weekend 2. i think it's safe to mark them out if them headlining 2017 didn't do that already.
EDIT: Johnny Marr opening on the tour so he's out too.
