any rock band other than GVF would've made this pop more. MMJ would've gone far. but they definitely probably have crossover appeal to the olds who can't see good and ask their grandkids if this is a led zep cover band
so are we looking at George possibly drawing the biggest headliner crowd in the fests history?
from pictures I've seen it's Lizzo, Willie, Billie. none of the headliners I've seen have had that big of crowds. (maybe Paul I sort of got close for Paul)
if they win, party set, if they lose, ballad set. the man's got a catalog the size of the Rio. can't miss.
how does a guy with 60 number one hits even pick a setlist? Damn
This is something that's always sort of confused me and he's never really shed any light on it either. The only time he's talked about it was for his LaSt ShOw at AT&T Stadium and he said he let each special guest pick two songs then he went in and filled in the gaps.
Meatball makes a fair point as far as getting to see things not previously seen. I don't hate the lineup, but it's not really that much for me. For the side panel/headiners:
Strait - Big name for Texas and respect, but I don't get stimulated by C&W unless it's serious picking/bluegrass stuff Eilish - Have seen, is fine but wasn't for me. Would probably see again. Nicks - Have not seen solo. She'll be around 73 (?) by ACL, and who knows how many more chances you get to see her. Miley - Kind of a wildcard that I haven't seen - could be fun, could be just kind of a show-person show Rufus Du Sol - Was decent when I saw them. I didn't love it, but I stayed for the whole set and would see them again DABABY - Was one of the most annoying rap shows I've ever been to. That was a few years ago, so maybe he earned the push? Erikah - Another wildcard. Super eclectic and talented. Last thing I saw her do was the Rebilliet show where she came out to perform with him
Too (unfortunately) use the term twice in a post, it's an eclectic top. There's plenty of fun shit in the mid-card. My only two comments about placement would be that Doja Cat (who is perfectly fine live) has apparently skyrocketed in 2 years from the bottom line of a small fest to #9 at ACL. Same for Jack Harlow. I saw him in 2018 for an opener of the day set. It wasn't great. I don't follow recommendations on streaming platforms, so I'm assuming both have developed extremely large followings.
yeah both Doja and Harlow have blown up in the past year, I would say their billing is pretty fitting in comparison with everything around them
hoping to get a ticket for ohsees d2 that functions as a late night but if I had a big want it would probably be channel tres who I'd much rather see in a club show
as the dust has settled, III Points did a pretty great job considering its a two day festival with 20k capacity. wonder how the grounds will feel completely at capacity, feels like some of those smaller stages might get overrun

Yeah III Points has the best undercard out of any festival this year by far.

Can you give me some highlights? Beyond Kelly Lee Owens, Yves Tumor and Mount Kimbie I know almost no one in the bottom 2/3rds.
