Lol welp.. I'd rather see MGK for the spectacle. Also I thought we weren't really planning on being there before five anyway, given how weak the early schedule is.
Ended up being gifted passes for tomorrow. Thought today was supposed to be the bad day with it clearing up for tomorrow. Doesn’t look that way anymore ☹️

Good first day. Security super lax which isn’t great. The mulch smell across the grounds was awful but not nearly as muddy with all the rain this week. Megan brought out Billie and Miley. George was great as always but with a smaller crowd than expected. At least on my side. He also mentioned he was originally booked for ACL 2020
Gonna do a full recap of the weekend on my blog but I’ll go over some overall stuff here.
Positives:
- Overall this year felt less packed than previous years. Don’t know if that because I started hanging a little further back for each set or if there was overall lower attendance. - Everyone I had the chance to talk to was super friendly and I think it leads into my next point… - It felt amazing to just have the festival again. It seemed like myself and everyone else were very grateful of that and we all had a great time.
Negatives:
- The shuttle on Friday was god awful. My mom and I got in the line at 2:30 and weren’t on a shuttle into the park until around 4-4:10. I guess that comes with opening the fest at a peak time though. - I know I just complimented the crowd but the talkers this year were the worst I think they’ve ever been. - Billie’s sound team really needs to get their shit together, it was tough to hear her talk at times. - Vaccine card checks were a joke.
Top 5 sets this weekend in no order were George, St. Vincent, Dayglow, Surfaces, and Tyler.
