Feels like I'm one of the only ones still excited for this. Sheesh.
Naw, we are still on board dude...There's still a bunch of bands we are excited to see, plus that wknd is right after my bday so we will be ready to rage.
Only way I see for us backing out would be if a scenario played out where like a dozen plus U.S. bands drop off, something to a weird extreme...But I imagine lots of peeps would feel the same way if that were to happen.
You would think though that Psycho would see the growing tension online amongst ticket holders and try to ease concerns, and get ahead of this. Then again, they've never been the most organized and transparent bunch.

It's about a week after my birthday too! I'm on the 12th, was supposed to be celebrating my 30th at PLV last year so I'm just glad it's finally happening.
I know Psycho doesn't have the best rep when it comes to international bands but a lot of what I'm seeing on that FB group is a little harsh. I can't knock them for at least trying but being unable to deliver international acts in the midst of the pandemic.
As for easing concerns, more transparency would be nice but this was pointed out in the FB group:

It does sort of seem like all of these bands were a gamble/longshot and they’re trying to make it seem like they have more control of the situation than they actually do
Kind of taking advantage of uncertainty to sell tickets advertising names that were always unlikely

Don’t get me wrong I’m super excited for it either way and I was always of the opinion that there was too much black metal there compared to previous years
At worst for me it’s just a decent excuse to go to Vegas

They were definitely a long shot. Hope they're able to get them back for 2022 if they do end up canceling this year.

How f*cking ominous sounding...It better be AT WORST that some of the European bands are canceling due to COVID restrictions, and nothing beyond that.
Then again, I believe I read that Clark County told casino and event operators that they had until Monday July 26th to submit plans on how they will counter the growing numbers of COVID cases...So it could be tied to changes they are making (like now requiring masks?) for festival attendees?

I'd like to think if it was an outright cancellation they'd let us know rather than making us wait. Hopefully it's not that.
As much as I wanted to see Emperor again I'm totally fine with the fest carrying on without them and the other Euro bands.
I think vaccine/neg test requirements are what's coming on Monday + the announcement of the international acts dropping out. I'm all for the COVID requirements too so it's a win/lose for me.

It's probably associated with the COVID plans that must be submitted by Monday July 26th. Check it:
Also, grocery stores, non-restricted gaming licensees at a hotel/resort property, indoor malls and other indoor venues hosting gatherings of more than 250 non-employee attendees are required to submit a COVID plan. The plans must be completed by 9 a.m. July 26. Only one plan needs to be submitted per employer.
This, along with the ever-increasing possibility of international bands canceling due to COVID, is probably why they will have a Fest Update this Monday (and not a total cancelation announcement).

The update:
Prior to the global shutdown, visas were approved for Emperor, Watain, Mayhem, Satyricon, MGLA, Crippled Black Phoenix, and Cult Of Fire via Psycho's immigration team. Once we were confident we could move forward with the festival in 2021, visas were reapplied for and reapproved for all aforementioned bands.
While travel restrictions continue to be in place for much of the world, exceptions are being granted on a case-by-case basis for international artists. This is a process that involves everyone from the European embassies and artist management, to local government officials who are petitioning on our behalf, and our counsel here at Psycho who has worked tirelessly on this process. Please know that all artists, their teams, and the entire Psycho crew are committed to doing everything possible to get these bands to the festival in August.
With that being said, we're giving it until August 2nd to assess whether or not these artists will be able to travel to Psycho Las Vegas 2021. We are in the final stages of making this happen – visas are approved, but we must be granted an exception for each artist to travel here due to the US Travel Ban from European countries. Those who are unable to obtain this exception will postpone their appearance to 2022. And while there is no comparable replacement for any of the affected artists, additional acts will be added to this year's bill.
Refunds will be available for all ticket types and tiers starting on August 2nd. Ticket buyers will be contacted via email with an easy one-click option to obtain a full refund.
For those of you taking the ride with us, we can’t wait to see you next month. For those who can’t, we hope to see you in 2022.

Yup. Transparency was all we wanted. Glad they're opening up refunds again for those who were only set on seeing the international acts. Even more glad this is still happening. Cannot wait.

Well 1 more week and we'll know what's up...I'm 99% certain we are going no matter what. And right after Monday's update, we will get the set times the Thursday after!

Here's the full update:
Due to the ongoing international travel ban to the United States, the following artists have postponed their appearance to next year's event and will not be performing this August: Mayhem, MGLA, and Satyricon. All of these bands have approved visa petitions, but unfortunately their local embassies remain closed or prohibitively backlogged. These artists have been extremely cooperative and made monumental efforts to get here in August, but ultimately we will have to settle with welcoming them to the Psycho Las Vegas 2022 lineup.
Efforts are continuing for Emperor, Watain, Crippled Black Phoenix, Cult of Fire, and Psychlona, who have all petitioned to enter the United States under the National Interest Exception. Please understand that it is unlikely that they will be able to achieve this exception, despite our best efforts. At this time the request has been made by our United States Congressmen and women, and we are just waiting for the final decision from the different European embassies involved in this matter. The odds are against us, in fact no artist from the Schengen Area has received this exception, but we’re not ready to fold – we’re waiting to see the river.
If the removal of any of the aforementioned bands from this year’s lineup would prompt you to request a refund, we suggest that you do so now. Refunds for all ticket types and tiers are available through a simple online process in your AXS account. You (or the person who purchased your tickets) will receive an email from AXS with instructions on how to do this. This option is available until 11:59pm on August 5th. If you would like to request a refund after August 5th, you can do so manually by emailing MBTickets@MandalayBay.com.
Regardless of what happens with the foreign bands, we’re adding some Psycho favorites to the lineup this week. Stay tuned, we’ll be announcing the new additions along with set times soon.

Sucks to see. The promoter I know from this Festival is super nice and he was so excited about being able to retain so much of their lineup. Guess the world had different plans

So much has changed since they announced the fest was actually happening. Things were definitely looking up in April IMO then BAM, Delta. I'm just happy this thing is still happening and give them props for being able to still put it together.
