Seeing how they played in 2017, I would bet that they'll be back for Psycho 2020 next August.
tycobb667 this was the first thing I thought of when I didn't see Las Vegas date there. I hope they bring Anna von Hausswolff too.
I second this. Been a big fan of Hausswolff since she released her last album, and it would be amazing to see her live. Considering she also plays on the new Swans album, I think there is a strong change both of these acts end up playing Psycho!

I've attended all 4 Psycho Las Vegas events held so far, but decided that 2019 was going to be my final one for a while. It's a great festival, but for my tastes, it's gong to be hard to beat the line-up they had in 2017. That included:
THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE, MULATU ASTATKE, SLEEP, MAGMA, MELVINS, PELICAN, VHOL, KING DIAMOND, NEUROSIS, GOJIRA, ACE FREHLEY, MYRKUR, SWANS, PSYCHIC TV, CULT OF LUNA WITH JULIE CHRISTMAS, ABBATH, ZEAL AND ARDOR, MANILLA ROAD, PENTAGRAM, CONAN, YOB.
Seriously.
I'll keep tabs on this thread, though, to hear how the rest of you enjoy the next installment!

It figures the year I commit, you decide to do something else. You will be missed for sure.
That 2017 lineup is what finally made me start the process. California always looked great but Vegas has a special place in my heart. It's one of the few cities I could convince Mrs. GL to go to without attending a festival. We're renewing our vows a few days before and just making this a vacation as well.
File in the 'I Didn't Know I Wanted It Because I Didn't Think It Was Possible' Dept.
It could be too big though.
I will say after spending all weekend listening to the new Blood Incantation, I want that, too.
HOLY SHIT.
I previously threw out Faith No More - as a blind/wishlist guess - but this could bump up that possibility considerably. We'll see what happens when the countdown reaches zero tomorrow!
With Mayhem leading into fate, Ty into Faith, idk what leans in good with down and is similar big, Swans?
Converge touring around the same time as Swans they could be here. If downs doing NOLA it would be cool if eyehategod is there
I think they’ll have a stoner/doom band as one of the top three like they always have
Talked to a guy involved with the fest this year and he said they tried to get QOTSA for 2019 so unless they’re ruled out for some reason I think it’s a distinct possibility

Daaaaaayyuum ...If they can land FNM and QOTSA?! I would be on cloud nine. Between the two I would rather have FNM, but either one works for me!

I guess I’m just wondering, what the hell does FNM have to do with this festival?
I know they’ve had curveballs but everything at the very top has had some kind of connection to what this festival started as (underground metal/psychedelic rock)
I mean even Misfits have the connection of Danzig who has a history making doom music (plus they were filling in for Megadeth, another act who was criticized for being included)
I don’t think they can have a top line of Mayhem - Down - FNM without seriously alienating a lot of fans
I don't think mayhem is gonna be top line based on the way they rolled it out and how they're showing up elsewhere. Like being below pig destroyer and converge. No idea where they'd end up.

Probably new music but it gets my hope up for playing live in 2020.
fwiw, Mercyful Fate got announced for Beyond the Gates festival in Norway the weekend after PLV. If the production is as big as I'm hearing, I don't see them coming all the way to the US for a one off, then right back to Norway for Beyond. But, hope I'm wrong.

I saw that and I'm officially scared.
To keep the bad news coming: Blood Incantation is out.
