So either we are getting a phase 2 or every set is going to be at least 1 hour. I’m fine with both but would prefer the latter. They are back to 4 days and have only 78 acts compared to last years 120.

my guess is they are getting rid of The Roost and The Hideway

Honestly UMO at the Hideaway was one of my favorite sets last year (that was the hideaway right? Sponsored by Pandora)?
If they take the roost away, that means bye bye AC. It was a lifesaver last year. We sat right in front of this huge vent blowing cool air and watched Lee Fields & the Expressions totally deliver.
I wonder if they’ll bring the pavilion back at all. I’m guessing not.

Snail Mail at the Hideway was my favorite set of the festival but they didnt book any UMOs or Snail Mails this year

Yeah I am surprised at the lack on indie music.
I also just realized that with Rage as a headliner, having Tool play as well would have made this lineup so much more tolerable. But alas...

When I mentioned Tool I was very quickly reminded that Firefly would never book them. While I kind of agree with that sentiment, I think having just Rage looks so fucking wonky.

Is Rage gonna draw at this thing? Can’t imagine anyone over 30 paying for this lineup. Also, are Rage even a thing to people under 30 or are they that band who does the Denzel Curry song? I can’t imagine the flower-crown Billie/Halsey crowd will be super into a Rage set.

i loved that barn/roost stage. I was right up front for Lee Fields having a ball. Same for Main Squeeze. Only negative in tehre was the lack of drink options. Cant forget lets eat grandma playing to like 20 people lol

It's nice that Firefly rewarded Halsey's twitter temper tantrum 2 years ago directed at Firefly with her first major headliner gig. Guess stomping your feet works. Gross.
People keep using Spotify monthly listeners as if that fucking matters. Is that really where the music industry is at now?
Like, I guess it makes sense, but idk. I picture people streaming music on Spotify when they’re like, doing shit. Homework, housework, etc.
Just because people listen to something while going about their day doesn’t seem like it would be a good metric to estimate ticket sales on.
I feel like streaming listeners are more likely to be much more passive in their music consumption. They are largely not your festival demographic. Just because they’re tuning in doesn’t mean they’re going to be willing to spend hundreds of dollars to go see that person live.

I was asking a question and trying to generate conversation but you can just be a dick if you want.
I think people here have interesting opinions and insight because we’re all here for our love of music, and it just sucks when people like you put in 0 effort to say or do anything worthwhile and instead make garbage posts and try to sling shit.
Not sure where David Lee Roth would fit in, and missing some more. I can live with that though.
David Lee Roth doesn't fit in anywhere because he has to be a skip. I'm really sad about it but he really can't sing anymore. Look up a video from his Vegas residency...

So i woke up this morning expecting to start planing a trip to Boston and now am possibly planning a trip to Delaware instead... not because it’s the best lineup but because i really was interested in much on the Boston undercard other then RTJ The 1975 and Brittany Howard. Wish this fest or that would had Boston callings headliner mixed with this undercard. I know again not super deep but a lot of enjoyable artist for me and some for my fiancé who isn’t big on fest that much and more of a casual fan. Me and her both are wanting to see Rage which also this is on my bday, plus she likes Halsey for pop I enjoy Blink 182 (still would prefer foo and RHCP of course), then we both can enjoy acts like Cage the Elephant, RTJ, Rainbow Kitten Surpise, CHVRCHES, Lil Dickey, The Struts, Grouplove, Cold War Kids(she’s never seen and loves them), Big Boi, Neon Trees, Noah Cyrus, White Reaper, RDGLDGRN, Missio, The unlikely candidates. Nothing rare besides Rage but enough to enjoy a weekend for us. Really never planned on going to this but it might be happening.

From my limited music industry biz knowledge, Spotify listeners are part of the picture for sure, but no one is booking based solely on those numbers. They're looking at tickets sold on recent tour dates first and foremost. Firefly's booking peeps did the math and figured out -this- lineup should sell x number of tickets to make x profit based on many-many-metrics ((or so I hope))

First of all, I made this gif myself, so I don’t want to hear anymore of your “0 effort” slander.
Second, what kind of conversation did you really think you were going to start with your “streaming stats are fucking dumb” take? Streaming stats matter because that’s how people listen to music now. And it’s not like these artists don’t also sell a bunch of tickets, basically the whole top six tours arenas or amphitheaters. These aren’t one hit wonders or whatever, they’re just apparently artists you don’t like. But in my view this lineup is perfectly in line with my expectations for this fest and I’m kinda shocked people are reacting so violently to something that shoulda been foreseeable.
