Faith No More and Mr. Bungle out due to Patton's health issues. Rise Against and Anthrax filling in. This is a completely different line up from when it was first announced.

Faith no more and Mr bungle just cancelled. The statement made it sounds like something with Mike Pattons mental health. Rise against is the Saturday replacement and Anthrax is the Sunday replacement.
Rise against is whatever, but I like Anthrax so I can’t be too mad at that. It’s sad but also this is a festival that books a lot of specialty bands that were or are doing a very limited number of performances so I guess it was inevitable (see also: Pitchfork and Jay Electronica).
Edit: oh wait anthrax is playing the same time as bleached. Oh well.

If it makes any of y’all feel better I just learned it was Mr. Bungle basically in name only, as they were only playing Wrath of the Easter Bunny + assorted covers on their tour
I love a good thrash metal band as much as anyone else but it shouldn’t have been called a Mr. Bungle show anyway. There would’ve been a lot of people walking away from that set disappointed and confused
Man Riot Fest keeps taking hit after hit, but I am continuously impressed on how they are able to pull out a replacement act of similar caliber WITHOUT FAIL. Just goes to show that these artists love playing this fest and will step in when Riot Fest is in need. Yes, it seems like 25% of this lineup has changed over the past several months, and it is disappointing for those who bought tickets to see a specific band (myself included), but this is still a very strong lineup. I would be pumped as hell if this was the original lineup announcement, and I am super disappointed this will be the first Riot Fest I'll miss at Douglas Park. Ya'll have a great time for me!
Just checked and Devo have been actively promoting their own tour dates and Mark Mothersbaugh selling his artwork at the festival on Instagram, so thank god we should be all clear on that still.

No way it happens but Riotfest really should be offering refunds for 3 day pass holders at this point
Had an important revelation this morning that just because I want to see as many bands as possible and Morrissey performances are few and far between these days doesn’t mean I have any particular need to go see that racist asshole’s concert lol

yeah, just bought tickets for Torres at the Bottle instead, seems like a way better use of a Thursday night.

We’re leaving from Madison Friday morning (~2.5 hour drive if traffic’s ok) and I want to make meet me @ the altar but I’m resigned to the fact that there’s no way

But! The noon bands on Saturday and Sunday, Devon Kay and the Solution, and Pet Symmetry, are fantastic and we’re definitely going to get there for both of those
Do312 gave me single day riot fest tickets and is now just handing out shit like duke dumont and above and beyond to me……..please let me relax I can’t be in four places at once
I guess I now have a note on my phone dedicated to choice Patti Smith quotes so:
“I’m wearing prescription sunglasses. It’s not because I’m trying to look scholarly or cool, it’s because I can’t see a fucking thing.”
“Do you want me to sign that record album? What do you think is going to happen? I’ve been out of a job so fucking long that I can’t wait to jump off the stage. I’m signing it with my mind” (she then proceeded to sign it. For real. She then said “and I feel bad for you for having to carry that fucking thing”.)
[after a guitar problem] “Uh oh, I’ve been sabotaged. They’re so jealous of my playing. My son did it.”
“A note to my sound guy: we’re going to reverse these songs because now I’m over…and I’m overheated.”
Biggest highlight of yesterday was riding the tilt-a-whirl by myself since nobody else wanted to join me. The free rides were fun but I should've made it a priority to go earlier because the lines were crazy long and one of them was closed. I don't really feel like I have any reviews of much of the bands yesterday that I haven't already shared; I started typing a couple out before realizing they all boiled down to "They played loud and fast and it was exciting." Exceptions being of course Patti Smith, who played all the hits but whose stage banter, as outlined above, is worth the price of admission alone, along with Ariana and the Rose and Torres. Ariana and the Rose was a fun dance-pop solo act; Torres was very good but unfortunately a straight 7 days of going to late shows caught up with me and I was very sleepy for the final part of the show, so I didn't pay much attention to the block of slower, longer songs she played at the end. The new stuff is really, really good though and she really just keeps getting better. Good news is today I am finally rested and ready to take on the world (in spite of my massive leg cramp)!
Oh, and by the way, I already texted him this, but of course Inforoo's biggest punk somehow found a way to make it to Riot Fest in spite of his schedule:
