When people call chance the rapper mayor of bonnaroo or some shit they neglect that Les claypool has played the fest with 6 different bands and led a superjam.
And made a mockumentary called electric apricot: quest for festyroo
Someone needs to add up how many appearances he's had at roo. Jim James would also be in the running and at one point Warren Haynes was.
2002: col. claypool's flying frog brigade and col. claypool's bucket of bernie brains 2004: Primus 2005: gabby la la feat. les claypool 2006: oysterhead and les claypool's fancy band 2008: les claypool and superjam (tom waits set with gogol bordello) 2010: les claypool 2011: primus 2016: the claypool-lennon delirium 2020: oysterhead, primus

Maddog and I recorded a podcast last night. Hoping to piece it together and put it out later tonight or tomorrow. I avoided the lineup all day yesterday and get the names one by one in the show. I think it turned out ok. Got pretty drunk by the end. It gets a little blue at times.

Chance can suck it. Les is the generalissimo of Bonnaroo
I cant make it to Sunday night if I attend Thursday. I'm happy there's no one other than big something that I'm interested in!
Friday - Sunday is more than enough for me
If a weak Thursday is what it takes to get the other days beefed up, I'll take it tbh. There's still a few decent acts after digging around. Maybe I'll finally get around to riding the ferris wheel. I do wish Orville Peck was one of the late shows on Thursday though, that would have been perfect.
What's weird about Thursday is there are acts on the other days that years ago would be a Thursday act. I'm still looking forward to some of the acts on that day just from initial research, but it's definitely a conscious effort rather than a change in booking strategy. Maybe they are trying to spread out the inbound traffic by giving people an excuse to not show up until Friday morning?
a rapper closing the which seems to happen every year, i'd bet young thug does it too
Agreed. Wiz Khalifa closed the Which on Sunday and he was 16th overall. Seems about on par with Young Thug. It does indeed make me question where they'd schedule Lana and VW though. They're big names.

totally agree, maybe they switch it up this year. young thug then lana or something
as has been discussed ad nauseum the weak link is the electronic music, but that has always been the case for bonnaroo. but since what they are doing with The Other appeals to a portion of the core fanbase it's hard for me to argue it's a bad move financially.
bonnaroo has booked amon tobin, sasha and digweed, sasha, mouse on mars, danger mouse, dj shadow, tiesto and oakenfold(if people are into that)... they also had a Lunar Stage one year and got stuff like hercules and love affair, lee burridge, dieselboy, the crystal method. so it hasn't always been shiz.

I think it's kinda funny they're going the opposite route of electric forest, who is basically opening up camp all week long. What's next? Splitting Thursday off as a preparty and selling an individual ticket to it?

and i think we have our first big scheduling question mark of 2020.
LDR, VW, Young Thug, and Leon Bridges in the big print too.
My prediction is Leon Bridges > LDR > Tame on What and Thugger > VW on Which. They had VW pre-HL for Ye in 14 and I don't think they'd put them in the exact same slot, plus LDR > Tame seems on par with 15's Florence > Dead & Co.
