My prediction is Leon Bridges > LDR > Tame on What and Thugger > VW on Which. They had VW pre-HL for Ye in 14 and I don't think they'd put them in the exact same slot, plus LDR > Tame seems on par with 15's Florence > Dead & Co.
I agree. I think there's little chance that VW goes from preheadlining to pre-preheadling before both LDR and TI.
They're already arguably more qualified to headline than both of them, though it's not an argument that I'd really care to get into.
They're either opening for TI or closing Which. My suspicion is that it's the later. (Easier to spin as a step up.)

Especially if they get 90 minutes on an upgraded Which stage
I still think he's elite, but I don't have him at the level of Adrian, Bill or Les. He's possibly the best drummer on the farm, but that would be out of he and Tim Alexander probably.

agreed, this is the most likely scenario. with young thug probably before VW on Which.
Speaking of stage improvements, I'm curious if the Other is going to be upgraded enough so that it could host big EDM headliners like Flume or Basssnectar.
The field in front of that stage is massive and could probably host the crowds that acts like that attract.

This would be ideal. Really unnecessarily restricts late night options to have a Bassnectar on the Which and then potentially more EDM at the Other.

honestly it probably could as is. like you said the field is already massive. what kind of upgrades were you thinking? bigger sound/screens, something like that?
They'd mentioned in some emails or marketing material that it was going to have some fun new features like lasers or flamethrowers, but also that it would be improved overall.
Perhaps some larger screens like Coachella has used for better visuals? The sound on it has been well enough from my relatively limited time there. Zhu sounded great when I stopped by last year.
Maddog and I recorded a podcast last night. Hoping to piece it together and put it out later tonight or tomorrow. I avoided the lineup all day yesterday and get the names one by one in the show. I think it turned out ok. Got pretty drunk by the end. It gets a little blue at times.
wherein we discuss that Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys are basically the same thing

Who would preheadline for Lizzo then, if not Flume? DaBaby?

Did I do the Saying Flogging Molly as Disinterestedly as Possible game on the show or was that after idr
Yeah, my list for top tier would be Danny, Les, and Copeland.
I don't see it with Copeland. I like him too. But if you go back to the Police, Andy Summers was the most talented musician in that band. His later work with Fripp kind of proved that. Frisell is a jazz guitarist which can be exceedingly difficult to play, and Belew made feedback and art form probably not seen since Jimi Hendrix.

i definitely see acts like flume or odesza and the like being on what before a headliner to be natural placement.
i was thinking more along the lines of bassnectar or other big name late night type EDM acts, if it is possible for them to be on The Other instead of Which/What. not what i want necessarily, i'm pro putting bassnectar LN what.
Looking at all the acts I don't like that I know, there's not a whole lot that's particularly terrible. I would probably give it to Dabbin. Oliver Tree is funny even if his music isn't the greatest. The Too Many Zooz guy drinking all that slobber is gross and may qualify though their music doesn't.

I definitely see where you're coming from, but for me the tightness that Copeland plays with is nothing short of astonishing. I always sit there and wonder how he can be so precise when I listen to anything he is on. I always gravitated more towards the drums when listening to the police than anything else.

the only problem with the sound at the other is they have the speakers that are far out in the field. if you're far enough back and on that right side you can hear the music twice i think. i didn't stand there for long cuz it was weird as hell

Giving him a little more due is how effortless he seems to drum.
With Flume, Oysterhead, Tenacious D, and King Gizz all seeming to be large enough to warrant LN Which, I feel like putting Flume on the Other makes sense, though I could absolutely see him in the Odesza spot and that's where I'll prob put him in my mock.
