All these people defending the Foo Fighters can't combat the fact that their music is ass
I couldnt be passionate enough in either direction about Foo Fighters to find value in posting that their music is ass. They are just standard inoffensive rock that I can enjoy when played but wouldnt seek out on my own. They’ll probably put on a good show by playing some of their good songs. Thats my defense.
Even the call for music elitists to rise to this occasion is weird, no?
It's just weird to me that people groaned about bookings like RHCP and Muse but are somehow excited for Foo Fighters.

I think people were pretty open minded to Muse actually. And Im expecting Foos to be better live than RHCP. Lets see where Foos end up in the Top 10 most anticipated artists thread / list. Have a feeling the overall sentiment is “not a selling point, but wouldnt hate life at the show. Might actually enjoy it.”

I'll go to bat for Muse. Their music has been getting steadily worse for the last decade but Absolution and Black Holes/Hurricanes each have some pretty solid tracks on them that they still cycle in live pretty reliably
That being said, the fact they were probably the best headliner in 2018 says a lot more about 2018 than it does about them

But also youre just less likely to vocalize your frustration with the bad players on a successful team. Might even make some excuses for them. I remember feeling like Blake Bortles kinda played his role well in 2017. Thats basically the foos here. If they were on the 2017 / 18 bonnaroo lineup theyd be getting more heat I bet.

my sentiment is "shiz, at least it's not quacking RHCP or Muse".

I guess I'm just surprised that Foos have that many fans here, is all I'm really trying to say. I certainly am not trying to attack anyone personally for enjoying or being excited for them. Just that I don't get it I guess, but that's okay, not everything is for everyone

That Muse headlining show was great (no bias at all..). In seriousness, the small number of people here who went that year seemed to agree. And Muse was even hampered by Roo only giving them 75 minutes when they had, at the time, 7+ albums of material. I do wish they'd headlined a year later though, because the Simulation Theory tour had some of the coolest visuals I've seen.

I’m surprised they have so many haters
Their discography isn’t like, perfect by any means but any band that has classics as good as... Everlong and Monkey Wrench and Learn To Fly gets a lifetime pass from me

I’d rather watch Dave Grohl chew gum and bring the energy that Kiedis Struggle to hit notes
Yeah but flea, chad, John (josh, dave,Hillel) are all better than the other members of the foos. Love the first four foo fighters albums btw and the two times I’ve seen them have been a blast. Granted those were both over a decade ago
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
I've typed and deleted several posts trying to defend the Foos but they've all just been different versions of me saying the Foos will bring the energy.

On the other side of the coin, any band that has songs as terrible and overplayed as Best of You get a lifetime ban from me

When we saw them in 2015 there was a dad near us in the audience whose phone I peeked at while he was some posting stuff on Facebook like "I can smell some of the good stuff!" I offered him some but he said "oh no no no thank you". He said Foo Fighters were his favorite band.
