No I was talking about that with one of my musician friends tonight. We had chances. We fucked them up.
Damn y'all tryna make me feel like a dick for wanting to see Primus playing Primus songs
Portion really just means, there will be an obvious 20-25 minutes of Rush, which could literally be 2 1/2 songs. Don't lose your shit people, Claypool shows I've seen (including the one Primus one) were almost an attack of songs, there won't be any serious breaks in time -- you'll hear a lot of Primus. Question whether they are going to tear back to Brown Album and Punchbowl or do more of the new stuff. That's a better question.

In a vacuum, (no Peart death, no previous announcement, etc.) if Primus played a set at Roo and a third of it was Rush people on this board would be talking about how badass it was years later.
I’ve seen Primus play a few albums in their entirety. Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Pork Soda, Frizzle Fry, The Desaturated Seven, Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. Each time they played a handful of original songs first then the album then another set of Primus songs. I’m thinking this is what we’ll get, hopefully.

Would be cool if they could get Primus to split the Rush set off into a Superjam. Not gonna happen of course, but what else is there to talk about for the next four months.

Hoping Adrian Belew joins in. They really do need someone else to sing too.

Don't worry, Jake Jortles has an announcement roll out plan he'll be presenting to Bonnaroo soon.
3post1jack1 you asked a couple months ago for my opinion on RATM as a newb to them after listening for a couple months. It was in the headliner thread which is now locked, so I'm just gonna post it here.
I know a lot of people on here are crazy about them, but they don't really click with me at all. While I like their lyrics and find them genuine/powerful in terms of content, their delivery just makes me think of Limp Bizkit. On a technical level Zack isn't a great rapper (like most from the early 90s), and is harsh on my ears (which is part of the point, but still not my style). Perhaps it's just because I'm at an age where edginess doesn't do nearly as much for me as it did ten years ago, but the music comes across as pretty-try hard at times, even though a cursory read of the history of Rage's members leads me to believe they're fully authentic. "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!" hits different when you're listening to a band whose members are 50+ years old. I'm listening almost solely in preparation of seeing them in a couple months, and I can't separate the music from knowing that I'll be hearing it from middle-aged multimillionaires. Kinda softens the message, even if it's a message I jibe with.
I'm a little disappointed only because my hype level was pretty high from people on here, but the lack of nostalgia plus my general distaste for metal times the current demographics of the band equals me not feeling too bad if I miss most of their set at Coach. I'll catch some of it partially just to say I was there and partially to keep an open mind, but I'm not expecting to get much more out of it than that. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Most Primus songs aren't that long, you could easily cram 10 into a 45 minute set. They don't jam out like phish for 10+ minutes either. I think even with a split set, everyone will satisfied.
I just wanna show the bassheads how adults mosh pit.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

thanks for taking the time to type this up. i understand and respect your opinion.
Respect but full disagreement. I think you have it overthought Jaz which is fine because you are a considering individual.
While certainly of the same era and similar rage-rock/rap genre, I don't think they sound anything like Limp Bizkit. My only knock on Rage all those years was that much of it got to be formulaic. Audioslave was worse in that respect - verse/chorus/verse/chorus Tom Morello making feedback noises - reprise back to chorus or whatever (obviously not exactly but similar). So much of it sounded the same even if the songs mostly sounded different (People of the Sun; Bulls on Parade; Bomb Track or whatever).
Also despite whatever wealth they have earned and amassed, they're all major activists and bring their messages from and to the streets. Morello is always involved in super leftist causes, and I almost always agree with his fights.
I'm totally down with their causes as well. I really only thought so much about it because I remembered postjack being interested in the impression they make on someone without nostalgia for them. I felt I could do better than just "eh nah I'm good", which is my more gut response haha.

I definitely thought I wasn’t going to make it this year, but the wife and I just bought our tickets. Ready for my 9th Bonnaroo and first time doing VIP!

Be sure to get some of Dee’s Nuts at the brunch. I’ll definitely be sure to order some dill pickle flavor in your honor.

Dill pickle flavored nuts? Am I missing out on something good or is this a joke that went straight over my head?
Idk. Pickles have vinegar. I never tried Dee’s nuts, so I can’t attest to how good they might be. Perhaps you have enjoyed Dee’s nuts over the years but maybe just not the pickle flavored ones. www.trymynuts.com/dees-nuts-dill-pickle-peanuts

I would assume, with a distaste for metal (and Bizkit literally stealing shit from RATM's stylings)... that only Evil Empire would work for you... and parts of Battles of Los Angeles (though it has tons of non-lyrical bullshit in it too). The way I know Zach can actually rap is the cover album they did.. that EPMD cut is just dope.. Not like they will play it in concert (I've already seen them at the other reunion tour)
