define "halfway decent". maybe name 5 electronic artists you think are decent and are bookable at bonnaroo?
i ask because maybe the reason i've given up on The Other stage is i can't even imagine a reality wherein bonnaroo books electronic artists that are exciting to me.

Not a chance. Considering Bassnectar brings along at least 8-12,000 people and Tipper probably 3-5, and considering they are worlds ahead musically of much of the stuff people on Inforoo clamor for, it’s not going to work. Day For Night could barely get 20k even with some badass rappers and bands and they actually had some super avant garde acts. There’s always house and techno bars or festivals like Movement and the Christian one in Miami catering to that.
On the flip side, if Bonnaroo went all pop EDM, they probably would still do better.
Also fuck Kid Cudi. I’ve seen him a few times and he’s fine. But he ought to stick to talking about things he has a clue about.
They can keep Bassnectar and tipper and lose some trash like He$h, Dabin, Subtronics, Svdden Death, boombox cartel, etc for a few interesting acts
Oh and before all the repetitive fans and ravers pile on, id be fine with shit like Aphex Twin or Oneohtrix Point Never, Squarepusher (or his band), Tim Hecker or whatever. That’s more on the elite side though

I don’t disagree with that. But they seem to just add mostly hard filler acts. If they are going that route, more Disciple, Black Label and Wakaan would suit me better.

Quite funny that this is the year I decided to return to the farm and is now gonna have an early sellout. Guess I got lucky not to make a decision later.

Whoa! Always trust the instincts. When I checked earlier and it said tier 6, but was actually tier 7, I knew it wouldn't make it till 10am tomorrow. So glad I made the push. Groop, brunch, my favorite inforoo'ers, I can't wait to be back on the farm!

We had like 35-40 people last year.
Last years brunch was amazing. Getting everyone together is always a blast.

Give me one glitchy European four-on-the-floor asshole, one person who's real claim to fame is being part of a different act (Thom Yorke/Jamie xx/James Murphy), and some kid who's only released Soundcloud mixes and no one's ever heard of but get votes from tЯist♡n and Fred for AotM, and I'm happy guy.

I've been only convinced on Marc Rebillet and past regular hard house or hip-hop oriented acts. I want to be convinced Bonnaroo could learn to do electronic acts better but the glitch might just be the booking agencies

I understand there are a couple of pop stars on the lineup, and I know he’s calling it strictly commercial with mass appeal to musically uninformed. Sure, Miley and Lizzo are on the lineup, but if that’s all he sees there, he doesn’t know.

Sucks, but I’m looking forward to saying what’s up. That was really cool last year to see people I knew like Todd, Jake and Druid, among others, and getting to meet everyone else. I have less Bonnaroo years than times some people have gone. So it’s a cool thing to be able to say what’s up to people you read, laugh with, disagree with and learn from throughout the work day. You, Pablo, Vic V, agarr and tons of other people I like here that I haven’t met will be there too. Maybe even get to say what’s up to postjack who I’m certain I’ve been to 25 or more events with but never crossed. Shit, maybe I’ll even run into Phi who I haven’t seen in years. Haha. Glad y’all are making it.
Absolutely hilarious that LiveNation can have an ok year with U2 as their #1 but AC sells out two years in a row with Tool and Phish as the #1.
U2 was worse than okay. It was the second lowest sales ever.
But ya, having a lineup with some sort of character matters. If Capps is really hanging up his cleats I wonder if LiveNation will go and fuck it up all over again.
