She had to pay a fine in order to play I Know the End. She went over the hard curfew by 3minutes. You could hear her team in her ear right before she played it and she says "FUCK IT, LETS DO IT".

So it is bittersweet to be writing this post. Ever since the pandemic began I have been tinkering with a mix. For what I had no idea, but it kept me sane in moments I needed it the most. Eventually being at home got to me and I lost all drive to ever finish (let alone record it). The title itself reflected life on idle. I was super excited for Bonnaroo - to experience live music again and ultimately get back to reality with people I love and friends I haven't seen in forever. It feels like only yesterday we were in complete control. Or at least we thought we were. I tried to make the best of the situation so I setup shop in the woods the last few days to work on this. If you are feeling the blues, would like to feel connected, or would just like to check out some new tunes, then I hope this might bring you some joy. Everyone hang tight. I'm sorry this weekend didn't work out. I would legitimately love to do this stuff in person for y'all one day. Maybe we can make it happen. Hope we can catch each other soon on one of those fields we all love. Stay safe until we can again.
Couldn’t decide between going to the bluegrass jam at the Station Inn and Liz Cooper; we ended up doing both. Bluegrass jam was fun since I’d never been before, but it was very crowded which made it much harder to hear just because all the people muffled the sound (we stopped by back later in the night and it was much less crowded and sounded a lot better). Liz Cooper was a surprise, I was under the impression she was going to be more folk or something but she had a lot more of a “St. Vincent’s slow songs on Strange Mercy” vibe. On a quick late night walk down Broadway stlallison realized that earlier in the week we had both mentioned Robert’s Western World was our favorite bar (except I misremembered where it was, lol) and we went in for one last PBR before going to bed. Overall, a great trip with some great shows and I’m so glad I got to hang out with LD and Mr.BelgianAmbers and whatever the hell Jeff’s username is on here. Also I got to pee next to William Tyler at Ascend which made the trip worth it alone.
I finally see a poster. I wonder if they'll sell some of this on the web store. They have some shirts and a blanket up rn.
$5 off with a wristband lol
This pop up was right across the street from our hotel, so shuck and I stopped in, but ultimately decided it was too sad to buy a memento for something that never actually happened. Too bad because there were two posters I really, really liked.

That's exactly how I felt.
I bought the frog shirt. I like the idea of 10-15 years down the line when it no longer hurts to have a shirt with the lineups that never happened on it, but was so so close. I think I it’ll be a cool memento to look back on a hopefully blip In time

I went by there as well and really loved the poster from that pic and the orange/purple poster, but I just couldn't pull the trigger on it for that reason. I'm still considering ordering one. Could be cool down the road.

I bought the soccer jersey, I’ve bought one every year I’ve been except my first year when I was too poor, this makes up for that one since I can’t find it anywhere.

I was the opposite. I wanted the memento for the Bonnaroo that never was. Weirdly, I feel a bit of comfort knowing this was a shared experience of a weekend that wasn't. Missed 2011 because of a stomach virus I caught the week of and couldn't even sell off the ticket in time. That was a worse gut punch than this week, and maybe that desensitized me a little.
If anyone asks about the poster down the road I can be like "lemme tell you about some fucking bullshit mud."
I got into the Pod 2 area, and the field in front on Thursday afternoon. It was just barely wet at all. I think if they delayed entry til then they could have pulled it off. Its just a matter of who they would have pissed off between the DOT and just having ~80k people just in a holding pattern for an additional 24-48 hours.
