I went to south bend to watch ND-TN in...2005? I had a great time and they treated us right. We rolled into town Friday night and we're double fisting solo cups of whiskey around campus, singing rocky top trying to cause a ruckus, and some group of ND kids came up and started singing rocky top with us. Took us for a tour of campus, and pointed in the direction of some keg parties. Then someone at the party called a cab for us and sent us over to the bar area. I got hammered drunk and most of it was given to me. Saturday we just went looking for a tailgate and had two groups of somers basically trying to one-up each other to us. Chili, beer, whiskey, brats, beer...just back and forth they fed and boozed us. I had a ticket in the student section, but it was still fun as hell. When tennessee scored they even picked me up and did the 7 pushups.
I know ND is perpetually overrated and there's lots to hate. But I was a Catholic school boy early in my life, and the did right by me as a visiting fan. Best away I went to besides Cal, where they just got me really, really high.
Reports coming out South Carolina have hired Shane Beamer as their next coach.
I think a lot of times, people act like they have a clue how these hires are going to turn out when they really don't have a clue. So I want to say that, whatever one might think of this hire, you really have no idea how it's going to go.
But I don't think this hire strikes fear in the hearts of any SEC East coaches. The reasons for the hire seem to be he's a nice guy, he's got no buyout as an assistant coach (and they need to save money with the firing of Muschamp), they wanted him in place before signing day. They also seem to have disqualified defensive coaches, which is just a bad look (I prefer an offensive coach myself, but more than that, I prefer the best coach, and that guy could be a defensive coach).
I'll be interested to know what they are paying him and what his buyout is. It will be beyond absurd for him to have an 8 figure buyout.

They want him because he was there when they were their best. A lot of those players want him because he recruited them. Also it seems like there were not many good candidates actually interested in the job. I don't see it making them better at all. He's been an assistant coach for a long time, but never even been a coordinator. No one else ever gave him a shot so why would you? But you're right. No one really knows. They're hoping for magic like we had with Dabo. No one ever would have predicted that.
Felt pretty good about myself in the interactive session at first. Combine drills I could still show some hops and agility. Reaction times good. Then the kicking part started. Deep, deep shame. Even short field goals are harder than it looks. I would have concussed my own offensive line half the time.

I remember trying to kick in hs. It's definitely not as easy as it looks.
We went to the Aquarium when we were there for Shaky. 10/10
Aquarium's great. Even better than the Shedd, and I looove the Shedd.
The Coke museum? Hagiography? is only worth for the room at the end where you try a bunch of different sodas. If they sold tickets to just that room they'd make bank.

That is fun. I haven’t done Coke but Jones Soda in Seattle laid a ton of flavors on us once. Some flavors can be a little nauseating though. Do you really need thanksgiving flavors carbonated?
Michigan didn’t have a great season, but this could prevent OSU from going to the title game, so that’s some consolation.
Alvarez already said they're just gonna change the rules to get the Buckeyes in, so don't get your hopes up.
I figured they’d either do that or just cancel the rest of the season. As someone who also attended IU this just makes sense. But Michigan did what they could!
If they’re gonna change the rules why not schedule Ohio State at Indiana this Saturday? Purdue is ducking like Michigan and iu fans wouldn’t really have a beef with the big tens cash grab rule change if Ohio State beats the Hoosiers home and away this year. Likewise, the Buckeyes wouldn’t have a beef about missing the title game after the Hoosiers kick their teeth in.
