Dates officially confirmed by them. And theyre hosting 2 kickoff parties feb 19 and 20. With that timing the line up is probably out the 21st. Early bird tickets onsale now. Looks like its a pricey line up with it being almost $200 for a 3 day and $400 for vip being the lowest after fees.
Jehnny Beth from Savages tour dates with a chicago gap.
7/15/20 Minneapolis, MN @ The Varsity Theater 7/18/20 Detroit, MI @ St. Andrews Hall 7/19/20 Toronto, ON @ Danforth Music Hall 7/21/20 Montreal, QC @ Fairmount Theatre 7/22/20 Boston, MA @ Brighton Music Hall 7/23/20 Philadelphia, PA @ Theatre of the Living Arts 7/25/20 New York, NY @ Webster Hall 7/26/20 Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club
And yeah, last year they had to wait cause of Midwinter and Robyn’s show to go down before announcing. It was usually the first week of feb for a long while til they decided to start paining murals on walls and tease things rather than just announce outright.
Edit: Big Thief plays sunday of the festival with their full tour schedule just being posted.
Its tough to have either of those acts since they have their own festivals which are shouting distance from P4K. Especially Bon Iver having theirs mid July. At least theres a clearer picture when Forecastle announces.
Still wouldnt put the 1975 out til the poster pops up. Thats a huge waste of a flight from the uk just to play that sunday. And why not put them on friday to drive up attendance from the kiddies. If that band is so environmentally conscious as they claim you arent doing that kinda shit. Anyway, at least its only a week til the line up and its been flying by.

Neneh Cherry came from the UK (or Europe) for this fest only last year, and went back the day after (that's what she said on the stage), so everything is possible.
Do you know for sure it's next week? Or just speculations?

We’re speculating it’s next week since that’s when the kickoff parties are but it could be beginning of March too
Needs to be a legacy act/local legacy in there in the GBV spot. ( Common comes to mind ) They gotta have something else in there for the 15th year and to justify another price bump. Cross your fingers they mess up on their website code again and it pops up early.

March last year was due to Robyn having a headline gig at the Aragon the same week and they had to wait it out. Theyve done that before with some other acts like Neutral Milk and Animal Collective. And the most extreme case of travel to the festival from another country was Caribou in 2014 who flew from Poland on saturday to play P4K sunday. Kendrick Lamar had to also fly cross country from Vancouver to the fest the night before. I still think its pretty stupid for the 1975 do be doing that right now amidst all their environmental stuff.
Anyway, seems that the line up is coming weds. There is a post of theirs that states single day tickets will go onsale at 9:30 am cst on weds to go along with the price increases.

True, but I brought it up because I went back and checked and the last time we had a mid February announcement was 2016. I do think it’ll be out Wednesday though for the reasons you and Fred brought up and because in the email for the kickoff parties today they really emphasized that these parties are the final times you can purchase presale priced tickets.
