For that to happen, the Raiders would have to receive two first-round picks for Carr, which they would then package with their own first-rounders in 2021 and 2022 to present a compelling offer of four first-round picks to the Texans for Watson, who has reportedly asked be traded.
You want to sit here and say that Carr is worth 2 firsts ( which no way in hell he is ) and then say Watson is worth 4 firsts?!?! FUCK NO. You could take 2 of those firsts and flip em into at least 5 more picks to go with what the respective team has. Thats a total rebuild in 2 seasons if you draft well. The NFL is doing NBA copycat shit and I am def not here for it. One player does not guarantee a superbowl when you give up that kind of draft capitol.

You can doubt whether it's a good move or not, but a player's trade value is whatever they can fetch. It seems like certain teams, like the Rams, would rather just not have first round picks, like they don't want to sign a rookie to a big-money 4 year deal. Other teams may like that 4+1 deal, so that discrepancy could lead to a lot of picks getting thrown around. The rookie contract structure may need to be readjusted, if that's the case.
Anyway, I just thought it was worth mentioning that another top 10 QB may be on the move. I wasn't really trying to troll about first round picks and trade value. Four first rounders is a lot, but if someone is willing to do it, if Mayock and Gruden like Deshaun that much, that's what's going to happen.
Having said that, it would be extremely funny if all of that happens now.
I wonder if there is a deal to be made for Deshaun to the Cowboys involving Dak. I love Dak, but Deshaun is a cut above.
Jerruh loves his guy and is really enjoying not having to pay through the roof to keep Dak cause of the injury after he comes back. Stephen would never let that trade happen anyway, the flashy trades are gone from Dallas. high profiles signings will still be the norm, but not some ill conceived trade.

Wasnt trying to imply it was a troll cause its a news story that came up. But teams are stupid if theyre willing to part with that much draft capitol right now. Its almost as if Gruden and Mayock are channeling their own inner Al Davis to try and impress their owner. The Rams have this invisible pressure from the Lakers and the Dodgers to try to join their ranks as top dog in La. Trying to make splashes in free agency and screwing their long term future up just to make it seem that the move to LA worked or something. The funny things is the fans do not give a shit here. Even if the Rams won the Super Bowl they still wouldnt fill up the stadium with their own fans. Its been such a luxury to have the NFL here now because of all the fans from other teams who live here and dont to go out of their way to see their favorite team. Plus the other teams who have fanbases that travel well really like the notion of coming to LA for a game cause its not cold and dreary in oct/nov. If it was possible for full stadiums to happen in the fall, the Chargers Cowboys game is going to be 90% Dallas fans, just like it was when the Rams had the playoff game here.
Jerry does love Dak, but apparently has not felt loyal enough to just pay him. Imo, speaking as a Cowboys fan here, they should have paid him a year ago when it was slightly more of a question mark how good he was and gotten him locked in for cheaper than he's worth now. The injury might help negotiations somewhat, but it would be pretty dirty of them to try to use against him, and disingenuous I think, because that could have happened to anybody. It's not that he's necessarily injury prone. Their position isn't that strong on the injury front, because if they're willing to franchise tag him for 38M this year, which by all indications seems to be their plan, or at least their threat, they probably don't consider him to be a massive injury risk, either. Granted, it's just the one year, but that's a lot of money if they really think that's going to be an issue.
They've been using the tag to try and play hardball and get a fifth year on his deal to help with contract structuring, and his agent wants a four-year deal. That's not how they should be playing this, imo. They should get him a deal both as a sign of good faith, ie not piss him off more, and because he just straight up deserves the deal. If they do piss him off, they run the risk of having their own version of the Deshaun situation, except less valuable because he's not signed long-term (and not as good).
They traded a first rounder for Amari two years ago, so I don't think they're above making a splashy trade by any means. Shout out to the Raiders for bungling Amari's early career and giving up on the guy. He's a good player. But still, he's not worth what Deshaun is on the trade market. Basically no one is. The Cowboys have a reasonably high pick this year at #10. If they could get something done for that, another first, and Dak, assuming Dak will sign with Texans, I'd hope they do that. Deshaun with those receivers (meaning Amari and CeeDee, because Gallup is probably on his way out one way or another soon, not that he exactly helped his trade value this season) would be pretty phenomenal. The defense is a mess, though. But like, I'm taking a possible decade of Deshaun and punting a couple first rounders if I can. Try to shore up CB and DT a little later in the draft, and hope LVE stays on the field and Jaylon Smith's season this year was an abberation. I'm no cap expert, but if Deshaun's big contract extension doesn't kick in until 2022, that kinda fits with the money the Cowboys have to play with, which is not much this year, but much more starting in 2022.
All of that is to say, it's not particularly likely to happen. But it would be fun for people in the state.

piggy pablo Carr as a top 10 QB? That made me pause. I'm running through the guys I'd definitely want instead of him *for next season only* (in the order of running through divisions in my head):
Dak Allen Rodgers L. Jackson Mayfield Burrow Watson Tannehill Wilson Murray Stafford Mahomes Herbert
Here's a list of guys who would be pretty close with Carr for me:
Brady Big Ben Cousins Ryan Bridgewater
I didn't include any rookies, and I didn't look at any stats. This is definitely just from watching a lot of football, so there is bound to be some inherent bias.
I'd put Brady above Burrow, Tannehill, and Mayfield
I'm not a huge Brady guy, but I could go with this. ACL injuries aren't as big of a deal as they used to be, but I would still worry some about Burrow. I think Tannehill is good, but he's a step below Brady. I feel like Mayfield is inconsistent still.

I understand not placing Carr among some of those guys for the rest of their careers because they are younger. Maybe I should have just said he had a top 10 season. He was graded by PFF to be about as good as Dak, and he's pretty highly accurate with his throws. He was their 9th graded passer but he's not a good runner, so he was their tenth overall.
The QBs they graded just behind him are Cousins and Matt Ryan. Murray had a great start to the year and then idk if defenses figured him out a little bit or what. Lamar had a pretty bad year. Herbert is promising, but lacks polish. He kinda spammed Keenan Allen, who is a really good WR. From the PFF write up on Keenan:
Allen produced the eighth-lowest average depth of target among receivers (7.3) and posted the 14th-best PFF grade. He was a terrific possession receiver for Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers this season. No receiver turned more passes thrown short of the sticks into a first down (28); he also ranked fourth in contested catches (18) and eighth in drop rate (1.9%).
So right there you can see he was getting YAC on short passes and having to fight defenders for balls. To me, that shows that he's making Herbert look better.
Carr had his best season in awhile this past year, so he has had a problem of delivering consistently. Some of those young guys should probably overtake him, but they have work to do.
Fucking shame. They just want to try to fix Wentz and apparently that means Frank Reich to them. I dont even wanna hear the checkered past excuse either. Jeff Lurie had to sign off on Michael Vick, and he went to prison for 2 years.

Mattress Mack, a big-time furniture dealer in Houston, plunked down 3.46M on the Bucs +3.5 today. He's running a promotion that if the Bucs win, anyone who spends 3k+ on furniture this week gets their money back. He does this kind of thing pretty often. Biggest bet placed so far on this year's Super Bowl.

Im surprised he was still able to get an insurance company to cover this.
