Everything about that tweet is note-perfect stupidity lol the choice of emoji and the completely misguided sense of purpose and everything it's, you know, jokes on us infuses, but it's something to laugh about while Rome burns.
Cowboys fan so I'm biased but nothing else comes to mind right away. They cover all the bases of things for me to hate. Their corporate culture is beyond toxic, their politics and owner are bad, they're ineptly run.
The Burgundy-Gold color scheme is nice but it's also explicitly racist lol so idk. Trying to find something nice to say.
The only thing that comes to mind would be the Clippers under Sterling pre-Blake Griffin. They were bad at everything.
The biggest bummer about the DC football team is not even their fault but RIP Sean Taylor. I wasn't even thinking about it until I tried to remember who their best players have been in *recent* years.
Just an absolutely cursed team (need a better word than "cursed" here damn there's no escape).

That's another good example. Certainly Jerry Jones has enjoyed some success, but he's pretty inept as a football guy IMHO and is likely what holds Dallas back. Also, Cleveland Browns since their return to the league but pretty much since the Bernie Kosar era have to be considered the way they pissed through so many highly drafted quarterbacks without finding any success. Four of their Top 8 picks they have had in the last 20 years were QB's (Couch, Quinn, Johnny Football, Mayfield*). Additionally Brandon Weeden was also a 1st round QB taken but at 22.. But if you draft that high in a 20 year period, you would expect to be able to build a contender at a minimum.

The Cowboys aren't the best run organization but comparing them to DCFT is a joke. The Cowboys have drafted pretty strongly in recent years with Stephen Jones taking the reigns more. The mismanagement from Jerry recently was to keep the Clapper long past his usefulness out of a misguided loyalty. They aren't doing great on Dak's contract, but if it wasn't the Cowboys it wouldn't be on Sportscenter every day or every other day. If people cared about DCFT as much as the Cowboys, you'd never hear the end about Guice and the other recent scandals.
Even despite all that, they're a vastly superior team than the Washington team on the field. Again, it's really not close.
They're also the most valuable team in sports, so, you know, they're doing ok.

Sure they are. And there are plenty of ways to measure success. Not having sniffed a Lombardi in almost 25 years is one way. Making lots of money is another.

Dude. We're talking about the biggest trashfires in pro sports. Your precious Pelicans have never won a title and probably never will because they're literally the Liquid Snake of pro sports teams. Picked the best draft prospect in the past decade and he demanded a trade, so yall picked first AGAIN. Get lost with this.
the redskins are like 7th? theyd probably be higher if not for the racism. value probably tanks with the current culture of violence, but i think most of the value is in the field rights. if the new branding goes over smooth and they can somehow force snyder out they could be better.
but they wont and wouldn't be surprised if they drop out of the top 10 in nfl value.

Damn. You're feeling kind of sensitive huh? I didn't say the Cowboys were the worst team ever or on par with the Redskins. You must have worked yourself into some type of strong inner-conflict. I addressed your post. They make lots of money and have a large fan base. So they have had some success. They had a lot of success in the past with championships. I was actually throwing you a bone.

Lol yeah right dude. I'm sure that's what you were trying to say and that's why you included the "haven't sniffed a Lombardi" shot.
Also, Jerry doesn't really handle football operations anymore and hasn't in years. I alluded to that earlier but you should probably know already if you're gonna talk about it. Pretty much what I come to expect from people who dump on the Cowboys, though.

I will say on the Texans that I'm no fan but I think they're a really big stretch to compare to Washington or Cleveland. They've been perennial division contenders/winners and have drafted and (mostly) retained some MVP/HOF-level talent with Andre, Watt, Deshaun, Hopkins, etc. You can't really say that about Washington outside of Sean Taylor.

It's half of what I was saying. I could have cut hard if I would have wanted to, but you seemed to have taken it personally. I agreed they have had success and were doing okay - like you said. But at the same time, I'm throwing that bone at you too since I'm not a Cowboys fan. Jones will always be final say if he wants it regardless of him backing off the player personnel side of the front office a bit. Similar to pulling that Trump card on me, I'm sure you know that Anthony Davis played his years here under Dell Demps as GM. I personally like Dell, but he didn't get it done. I'll take Griffin 100x out of 100.

Wait, I didn't realize we were discussing professional sports trashfires. The Pittsburgh Pirates, my beloved Buccos, certainly are in the discussion. It's the best stadium in MLB (and I've been to 29 out of 30, since the new Lowe's opening in Arlington this season). That and a proud history through 1980 is what the Bucs have.
The rest is a dumpster fire. It got pretty low last summer with the arrest of our best player on statutory rape charges (or similar) and he's in jail waiting on trial. There was the time the Pirate Parrot was busted for selling come, the vaunted "Pittsburgh Drug Trials". And, oh yeah, there's that pesky 20 year losing streak, the longest in professional sports history. At least we didn't get to 21 (which is an important number to the franchise - Bobby Clemente).
Also a litany of guys we gave up on that were stars elsewhere. Jason Schmidt, Jose Bautista are two big ones (thougg we gave Bautista something like 1500 ABs before trading him).

Do y'all do a fantasy league here? If so, I'm in. Finished my 3 leagues last year in first, first, and second. Only reason I didn't win the last was because I decided at the last second to grab Saquon instead of CMC with the first pick
