Not a great name, imo.
I just like the connection to The Replacements.
I also think changing from Washington to DC makes it harder for people to "accidentally" call them by their old name.
A lot of people want them to rename them the Red Tails, which would be nice I suppose if not for the fact that it's being suggested specifically because it evokes or references the name they're replacing.

That would probably be the smallest, most seamless change.

I wrote some sample SNF lyrics for the DC Football Team:
Hey Jack it's a fact the show's back in town Cowboys and Football Team about to throw down People said they were racist, but guess what clown? They changed their nasty name to a generic noun

Low key feeling like Belichick is purposefully having players do this because he knows this season is going to be bullshit anyway. Good season for the Pats to tank but it not stain his legacy because he had way more players opt out than anyone else. Secure that #1 pick and draft Lawrence or Fields.

The NFL isn't going to work without a bubble. There's too many players and staff. Probably too late now, but here's what I'd propose:
4 "bubbles" of 8 teams Teams are placed into a bubble with whatever conference opponent they were supposed to play this year
BAL, PIT, CIN, CLE, IND, JAX, HOU, TEN NE, NYJ, MIA, BUF, KC, LAC, LVR, DEN PHI, DAL, NYG, WASH, SF, SEA, ARZ, LAR GB, CHI, MIN, DET, ATL, CAR, NO, TB
Reduce the schedule to 12 games (probably a non starter for the owners, but you could expand to 16 in this too).
Each team plays their divison opponents twice, the other division once, plus an additional 2 games again using SOS against the other divisions teams. I.E. 1st place players top 2 teams again in other division, 2nd place team plays 2nd and 3rd best team, etc.
You would need to pick 4 geographical areas that work with enough facilities in the immediate area. It probably can't be as closed off as the Disney bubble, but everyone can at least be secluded and not need to travel anywhere. You really don't need them to be in the NFL stadiums and whatnot since there's no fans anyway. No team ever needs to travel until the playoffs.
Edit- You'd actually only need one "travel" game for the AFC ad NFC championship. You'd either have to expand to 16 playoff teams or go back to 12, 14 doesn't really work with this. With only that one travel game, you'd then have two weeks or whatever amount of time before the Super Bowl.
Would obviously need some details ironed out but just something I thought of.

i feel like bubbles were more tolerable for nba and nhl players since it wasn't going to be a full season committed to quarantining - they only have to commit to max a couple months if they get deep enough in the playoffs. NFL bubble would've been for an entire season + training camp and preseason, and I'm not sure how many players would commit to that amount of time away from their family/friends and their normal lifestyle.

I guess he couldn't find a non-thumbnail of Levy. Or Riddick. Actually, all three photos are bad. This seems pretty vanilla. They're no Rush Limbaughs.

How would you feel if your boss told you that you had to leave your family for 3 months to go play a contact sport while a deadly virus is around in an isolated environment with very little social interaction? I think it is kind of insane that NBA and MLS were even able to get people to sign up

Man, you guys are really hating on Louis Riddick I guess, he's one of the best NFL voices out there. He's a great addition to the MNF booth. The other two are fine, I guess.

I was on subs in the navy for 3 months or more at a time, and I only made 14K a year. I think they will be okay.

yeah but he's also not really a "fun" guy and the other two are bricks.
