Ravens are such a cool franchise. First of all, they're from Baltimore. That's the city from the Wire. Next, their colors are black and purple, basically the two best colors. The mascot is badass and goth af, too. They're like the only team who runs the football anymore, which could be lame except they do it with speed, not some boring Big Ten style. And the way they flash their lights at the stadium when they score is very cool to me also. I have a pretty strong dislike for Ray Lewis (sanctimonious, murderer, etc.) and it was pretty hard to get excited about Flacco, but Baltimore is probably the coolest team in the AFC. Hope they can dig themselves out of the hole they made in the first half.

Coolest NFC team.. Seahawks?
I don’t hate them but Art Modell fucked over Cleveland.

I don't think it's really worth waiting much longer on QB or TE once you've filled out your starting WR and RB core. You might be able to get someone really great on your bench, but I'd prioritize a guy who I'll be starting every week over a guy who is going to give me a little sit/start flexibility.
I think tight end as a position has evolved to the point that there are a handful of good to elite guys that you can draft early but also there's still enough scarcity that it's an advantage to have one of those guys and take them even a little earlier. I have Kelce, who I probably had to take R2, in a couple leagues. I have Waller, who has been a letdown, in the other.
QB is tricky. I took QBs higher than I usually want to do (Allen x2, Dak) this year and so far it's paid off. Baker did not pay off last year. But yeah I think streaming QB is a pretty viable strategy.
A defense can have a dominant performance and win you weeks, imo. A kicker "winning you a week" just means it was a really close game, which could indicate that the core of your team should be stronger. They have high floors and low ceilings compared to every other position. I wouldn't be mad if a commissioner just eliminated the position altogether.
Butker is currently tied for 13th highest-scoring kicker, fwiw. He's essentially been a replacement-level player so far this year, and the Chiefs are scoring, but he's missing extra points and field goals, so it's not like he's not getting the opportunity people drafted him expecting him to get.
Despite Butker’s struggles tonight, I went 2-0. He’ll win me more than 2 games this year.
Your kicker is not going to win you games. This is not how you should approach fantasy football.
Do the math. If you have a good kicker on a team that scores, you can increase your ppg easily enough. There are generally 2-3 teams each year that fall in that category. If I lost lots of money playing fantasy, I might listen. As someone 5-0-1 on money bets on Inforoo, I don’t fuck around that much when it comes to gambling.

Increasing your ppg by two or three points, which you have thus far not accomplished by taking Butker early, is not that important when position players are putting up 30+ point weeks, my man. I can do enough math to know that having a solid WR that I can start every week if one of my top guys goes down is far more valuable to my team than using a 7th rounder on a guy with a production level I could very easily find in free agency. It's a matter of opportunity cost.

Obviously there are exceptions, take Kittle or Kelce in the 4th, Mahomes or Lamar in the 6th if you can get them. But never reach just because there's a run, stream stream stream

You're not getting Kelce or Kittle in the fourth, though, and imo that's for good reason because they're more valuable than that. Same for the QBs. Mahomes scored 50 points tonight. That's serious production. That's winning you games on its own. He's worthy of a first-rounder, probably, imo. Streaming can totally be a viable strategy, but so can taking a GOAT player like Mahomes.
I gotta agree with esteban that this is pretty archaic thinking. Like, yeah don't reach or whatever for a middling QB, but Mahomes is a far cry from what you can get in the 14th round.
Mark Andrews was essential to me making the playoffs. I'm dueling TE in a multi flex league. Would much much rather have a starting TE than a #3 wr for the majority of teams
It’s all positions and based on what you are able to draft early. Grabbing a Mahomes in the middle rounds or a Brees in his prime can get you even more points assuming you have your RB/WR positions covered. And if you are late in the draft order you know you aren’t going to be able to pull an elite skill player. In dominating years, guys like Bell, McCoy, Kamara or McCaffrey are going to kill it most weeks. If you don’t have the shot at an elite talent WR or RB, you take what you can get and may have to adjust your ceiling in earlier rounds. Think about it. If you are drafting say 9 or 10 in a 12 player league, what do go for there? 3rd or 4th WR or maybe 7th RB? Sure you might get lucky. We all do sometimes. But if I pull a Mahomes in the 7th (which obviously he’ll be gone but for argument sake) instead of 9th or Butker in the 11th or 12th rather than getting the Jets kicker or some dude who might be cut in week 3, I might take the chance. Some talent greatly exceeds most other comparable players. And if you score from 1-10 at all positions and look at the potential point differences you can potentially achieve for balance, you can easily calculate the difference a top D, K, QB or TE can make. If you got (and they are healthy) Kittle, Crosby, Mahomes and maybe Pittsburgh but got stuck with mediocre 1’s or 2’s at WR or RB, you’re probably still hanging strong with players who drafted higher than you.
Like, I don't even think those are bad picks (little high for Andrews maybe but w.e). I'm just confused.
yeah Andrews was a slight reach, but he did great for me last year, where I got him in the 13th lol. There's a reason I said "ideally" in the op. I won 3 leagues last year by grabbing Lamar in the 14th
