Oh my goodness. Vanderbilt just sent me an invitation to participate in the Moderna phase 3 trial. And if I do so, that is all I can say about it. Tight restrictions on discussing it on social media.
Cause inforoo is totally the center if social media? 😂 im sure you can figure a way out to let anyone know whats going on without blowing the whistle publicly. Get a burner phone for the board, come on!
Did I just see someone sign up with the username, "TotallyNotDruid"????
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

UGA isn't the first people to bring it up. I think it actually came up here somewhere in this thread about sexing with masks on. I'm totally using the rona to explain why I'm single. Haha

We've foregone masks now, but first few times my partner and I saw each other post Stay At Home order and fucked, we did so sans kissing and whilst wearing masks. Was it as good as unmasked sex where you can actually kiss/bite/etc? Of course not. Was it better than no sex at all? OF COURSE YES.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I've been going into the lab on Saturdays to get shiz done in person when needed, and campus was gloriously empty all summer. Yesterday was move in day for the dorms and holy shiz. Ppl everywhere, half masked, the clusterquack you expect on dorm move in day. ASU gonna be shit down in a couple weeks, I think.

I was going to take another course just to get another lab connection but I don't actually need any courses and I have no confidence in things going smooth so I'm just saying fuck it. Am probably just going to take a python for research course online instead
So I didn't realize that Sturgis happened this weekend. Apparently you couldn't even tell there was a pandemic and it was a busy as always.
We're so fucked.
Yup...South Dakota (my state of residence, albeit I'm on the other side of the state from Sturgis) for the "win". I apologize on our behalf to all the other places the bikers will spread the virus to when they go back home.
As I've mentioned before, I'm a barista. A bunch of bikers stopped in our coffeeshop on the way out to Sturgis, and I am DREADING the days they stop by on their way home; unmasked, of course.
ETA: We also just held the Sioux Empire Fair here in Sioux Falls for the past week; the "largest fair in South Dakota"; lotta bright ones around here, I tell ya...
I am so tired of seeing every single person I know out and having fun
And if you say anything, you're the asshole, so that's a fun dynamic.
Fr, people always ask me why I’m so strict and I say that I live with my parents and then they say “well I live with mine” and then I look super rude for making it seem like they don’t care about their parents. Which is not what I was saying but if the shoe fits

My mom is the one who thinks I’m being too strict, mainly because I won’t come up there for a visit because she has not stopped going out and doing shit this whole time.

The generational divide is so stark to me. Or at least within my circle it is. My grandparents live with my aunt, and my aunt's friend is traveling from Pittsburgh to her parent's place in Maine for a visit, and then is coming down to the eastern PA area and staying with my aunt and grandparents for a few days. And of course she tells me this while I'm calling to wish her a happy 78th birthday, so I felt like it wasn't the time to be like "Grandma that's stupid."
This is in contrast to my sister in California (early twenties) who is making her life partner quarantine in his room after coming back from the east coast, which he went to for his grandmother's funeral services. To be fair, there's a good chance his mother has COVID and he was staying with his family while here, but it still highlights just how seriously (or not seriously) the different generations are taking things.

I was posting a few weeks ago about my grandfather in his 80s who was lecturing me about it not really being that big of a deal, and my mom is in her 60s. I think my sister-in-law, who is around 30, is taking it pretty seriously, but it seems like she and my brother also spend a fair amount of time around my mom and grandparents, so I don’t know.
Also, apparently, they’ve had five or eight cases at my other grandmother’s nursing home, so that’s not so good. It was either three patients and two staff or five patients and two staff. Mom said they are testing everybody once a week now until there are no more positive cases.

Fingers crossed for 'em. My sister's partner actually works in a nursing home, and they've had pretty good success with continuous testing. I don't think they've had a case in their facility yet.

^^ It varies up between the generations. We all have shitheads.
Naga the cat was adopted today by oldest's gf who is moving into an apt on the 13th. We let her stay because someone she lived with recently had chemo. Kitty is pretty cute, Russian Blue I think but they don't know what the dad is. We get the boxer on Friday, so it will be nice to spend a few days with a kitten and then a year or two with a puppy. The minus side is I asked V if she knew that Naga meant snake and she said some other random shit. I thought everyone new Sanskrit.
