I was just hopeful that they would weigh out the pros and cons of the situation at hand, because 5 year olds are going to be harmed being pushed off back to school without masks or vaccines.
Literally wish I could sign a waiver at this point
Now that Pfizer has been fully approved, it gives Doctors the legal right to use it for "off label" use. Some physicians are going to administer it for under 12.
The Daily podcast from the NYT on Monday of this week focused on questions parents have about kids. On the vaccines, what Druid said is correct that the FDA asked for more data, and the NYT said that's because of the heart issues that a small number of over-12 patients have had. They want to make sure that such issues aren't more common in younger children. As Druid said, Pfizer has announced they plan to submit their data in September, and the NYT said it will likely take at least a month for the FDA to review it. Best case, vaccines could be broadly available to kids 5-12 under an emergency use authorization in late October/early November.

The Washington Post is reporting that Sturgis led to at least 100 cases, which would be very low considering over 100,000 people attended, but Yahoo News is reporting that cases jumped from 657 on Aug 4 to 3,655 yesterday, saying Sturgis led to a 456% increase in cases. The Yahoo report is in line with what I'd expect, not sure why the story in WaPo, which I generally trust, is so different.

says the old fuck who doesnt need money and to go on tour to support himself
yeah it’s really telling that most of the acts fully cancelling their tours are the huge ones who don’t really need the money anyway. It’s really not that simple for a lot of acts

Here's a single hospital system in Louisville KY, vaccinated vs unvaccinated numbers
Yeah that’s obvious. Nobody is arguing that the vaccine reduces possibility of severe disease or hospitalization. I’m not anti-vax or anti-science. I’m against the mandates.
